I'm not the biggest Hulk fan in the world, but this was an excellent story. Marvel's done the "send a strongman to another planet" thing before (with The Thing, in his own comic) but this is much better. The art is great, and the story, though derivative of many things (A Princess of Mars, Gladiator), has enough interesting twists to keep it interesting. Some of the pages seem choppy (was anything cut out from the original comics?) but that may be due to a limitation on pages and issues that the ... Read More

For long-time comics readers, this is a great example of how the genre has evolved. Character and plot development are rich, dialogue and art are incomparably improved, and the creative teams manage to stay true to the original premise of the series. I don't read the Hulk regularly, but picked this and couldn't put it down. This is why people want TPBs to get more respect - they deserve it. Congratulations to Marvel and DC for continuing to raise the bar.

I've never been a huge fan of the Hulk. I don't read it very often and I outright disliked World War Hulk, one of the few Hulk series I have read. So I didn't have great expectations for Planet Hulk when I ordered it on a whim. I was pleasantly surprised. This isn't just the best Hulk series I've read...it's among some of the best comics I've ever read. I immediately passed it on to my friends--other middle-aged comics readers like myself--and the opinion was unanimous...this is great stuff.

This is a great dramatic story of the Hulk on this savage planet. Definitely worth the buy. Going through all the struggles with the Hulk on his questto defy the image he has become to the humans- a monster- and become a true hero and to simply be accepted by the worl he has landed on. Great imagery for all the battles and introductions to new characters. Nice span and variety of characters. I now must read World War Hulk now that I know what Hulk went through to gain happiness.

I love the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk series, but when I opened the Planet Hulk book for the first time, the first page was torn in half. At first I though it was a gimmick page, but soon realized the the page was just plain torn. WTF?!!! Great content, but disappointed with Amazon about the damaged book.
