I gave Earth X 4 stars because I thought it was imaginative in its use of a vast swath of the Marvel universe. However, by the end of the series I felt that what made it initially exciting became cumbersome, convoluted, too repetitious and pretentious. There are good moments up to the end, but nothing worth the time and money needed to finish the saga. While I applaud the concept, writing this thing must have been very difficult. I enjoyed this book. As a reader of the stories from the 60's, 70's, and 80's I liked the explainations and story line. I stopped reading in the 90's and this is a fresh experience. I plan on reading the companion volume.
