These are comics to go along with the Cartoon Network branded Superman, so the design look is the same, for Superman, Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, and others. However, the stories are written by Mark Millar, among others, and are not too bad. Superman faces off with Mxyzptlk, Luthor, Brainiac and the Parasie, in a small digest sized edition that is pretty well done.

The main author of these recopilations (Superman Adventures vols. 1-4) is Mark Millar. Each one of the stories is a nice homage to the Superman Universe, in the same sense of All Star Superman of Grant Morrison. I mean, Millar pretend to reflect the essence of the character putting aside the continuity controversy. In that sense, the adventures are universal and atemporal.

This delightful little graphic novel (Superman Adventures - Volume 1: Up, Up and Away!) is actually a collection of four stories from SUPERMAN ADVENTURES 16, 19 and 22-24. The storylines of these four adventures are quite exciting, and the illustrations came out quite striking. My ten-year-old son loved this book, and highly recommends it to you. So do I!
