Wonderful stories of coming of age in California. Author's evocative writing makes you feel as if you were there with her experiencing her adventures and going on her emotional journey into adulthood. Very realistic writing that doesn't hide from the difficulties of life but helps you to see into them and what they represent not only to the author but to all of us. Her perceptions are astute and make for fascinating and touching reading
