The first in the series, Batman (1989), and arguably the best of the four movies, exudes the moodiness of the Dark Knight's character. Tim Burton's direction and Michael Keaton's rendition of Batman are an electrifying combo. Together they capture the sinister atmosphere of Gotham City and Batman's darkness. Jack Nicholson as the fiendish Joker and Kim Basinger as the resourceful and gorgeous Vicki Vale lend their charm. Three years later, in 1992, Burton and Keaton reunited for Batman Returns. Batman (*****): A great transition to the big screen for the caped crusader. Michael Keaton plays a great "Bat", while Jack Nicholson sets the standard for all Joker portrayals (until Heath Ledger, of course). Tim Burton's vision of Batman is very dark and gothic, yet quite effective in portraying at least some of the tortured soul that gives rise to Batman.

Why add Batman & Robin?! I've been a Bat freak my whole life and adding that crappy movie just taints all the other ones! They should make a box set without that one included! Then it'd be perfect!

These films are lousy. Namely because A) They don't have the same actor playing batman, B) the villians might as well have been that stupid clown from spawn, they all sucked C)Who honestly thought any of these people took the Batman legacy with an ounce of seriousness?
Pathetic!
The cartoon series was more serious than these "films" were.

What a fabulous collection of Batman movies waiting for you! Micheal Keaton, Val Kilmer and George Clooney did a superb job as the Dark Knight fighting off the fabulous villains that we know and love (or hate)! I enjoyed watching these DVDs. They are exciting in every sense of the word! I know you will too!!
