The short-lived classic-rock supergroup Blind Faith's sole album has aged remarkably well. In 1969, Blind Faith fused the psychedelic blues of Eric Clapton and the soulful vocals and keyboards of Steve Winwood with the polyrhythmic, Afrocentric leanings of drummer Ginger Baker. "Can't Find My Way Home" is one of the hippie era's most lyrically poignant, sonically subtle tunes. The record has a lot of surprises; "Presence of the Lord" is rousing and melancholy at the same time, while the way the bass and guitar double-team on the introductory melodic line to "Had to Cry Today" makes a hard-rock cliché fresh again. The 10-minute drum solo on "Do What You Like" is pretty good as 10-minute drum solos go. This 2000 reissue of the album omits the unreleased jams and mixes that fill the second disc of the deluxe reissue that appeared earlier in the year. --Mike McGonigal

If you grew up in the 60's, then this classic recording of Blind Faith should be part of your collection. The simplicity of words and music make you appreciate the real talents of these artists back then. Songs that had meaning and words you could understand. Stories that we could all relate to and the music seemed to reach way down into your soul. By far, this is Eric Clapton's best work in my opinion.

This was a short-lived, but sublime combination of rock greats and the label 'supergroup' for Blind Faith really does fit. It's as if these guys upped their game and their music became tighter. The compositions are excellent and Winword's vocals are beautiful and otherworldly. Listen, remember and enjoy!

They didn't change the songs, which I really appreciated. When I want to hear the "old" songs, I don't like them to be added to, or redone in another studio setting. I like to hear them just as I remember them from the original recordings. These were perfect!

The CD is fantastic but the service rendered by the seller was in fact the worst I have ever experianced and will make me avoid ever using Amazon again.

Being a clapton and winwood fan already when this album was released what can I say.Throw in ginger on the drums and Rick Grech on bass and you have at the time what they called the first rock supergroup. Just guys from other bands forming a new band to me. The whole album is superb. (Do what you like) on the second side was a little long but it got to showcase gingers druming to the max. I still play the cd often. What made me come back and reveiw this music on this day is the release of the live ... Read More
