Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Here was a case in which the progenitors of this successful comic-book adaptation figured they had to go in a new direction--and chose the wrong one. For starters, they recruited comedian Richard Pryor, who was the kiss of death for almost every movie he was in except his own concert films. He plays a computer specialist who is hired by a criminal mastermind (Robert Vaughan) to help him take on Superman by exposing him to a new form of Kryptonite: red Kryptonite, which always had unpredictable effects in the comic books. In this film, it splits Superman in two, dividing his good self from his dark side. The special effects had gone about as far as they could, and this movie strains to hold an audience's interest for its full running length. --Marshall Fine

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Superman VS Super computer
Some people hate this movie but I enjoyed it. The cast alone made it worth watching. Christopher Reeve, Robert Vaughn, Richard Pryor. This movie had some very talented actors.
Gus(Richard Pryor) is ordered by his boss to find out what Kryptonite is made of. 57 percent of it couldn't be found. Gus used tar to complete the kryptonite. When Gus gave it to Superman, he didn't die but it did temporarily turn him evil. I loved the fight that Superman and Clark Kent had. Especially when Kent choked ... Read More

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - How Terrible Is This Film? Let Me Count The Ways...
Despite the directorial struggles that plagued the simultaneous shooting of Superman I and II (Richard Donner being ousted in favor of Richard Lester), the films did very well financially, prompting a third effort. However, instead of the epic feel and formula of the first two films, this one falls completely flat for numerous reasons:

-First, the direction of Lester. After watching this film, I am now convinced that Richard Donner really was the mastermind behind the success of the ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Oh No!!! Superman and Clark Kent
This movie is bad, but there is one redeeming plot line - the internal struggel of Superman with his alter-ego, Clark Kent. The personalities split in a junk yard fight that is truly fun and intriging; however, beyond that - the movie is a waist. Richard Pryor is poorly used and Robert Vaugne is too camp.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Energy shortages, Toxic chemicals, and AI monsters.
The opening scene starts with a shot where, Mr. White, and Jimmy busy setup the Travel photo shot - bingo winner promotion at the Daily Planet. Gus Gormon plot to control the weather satellite will spoil the luck winners Wedding trip too South America. Lois is departing for the tropical islands for her next assignment. Clark and Jimmy are on assigned too Smallville to write an article about class reunions, "the prodigal son and his photographer going home".

Gus Gormon is a computer ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - SUPERMAN III
After the brilliant first two films there was alot of pressure for the Salkind Brothers to produce another great Superman film but sadly in Superman III's case it failed & quite miserably.

The main problem lies with the script, the arch villain Ross Webster could have been stopped by the FBI with his plan for an oil monopoly so why on earth would he be a true villain to Superman is anyone's guess.

Even the supercomputer, just send a few F15 bombers & lets see how its super defence ... Read More
