These guys were so young and so loud, who cares what they sounded like on record...they were a live band. Buy this CD, however, as this collection is well packaged and a GREAT reminder of what significant California hardcore was back then - before major label and full-on heavy metal influences. The bands first release was in 1985, so this title "1983-1988" is misleading. I read that they cut live tracks (poor quality) with original singer Trevor Raham (1983)...supposed to back up that title. I ... Read More

I may be old but at least I know that this was the beginning of West Coast straight edge. I saw them in San Diego in 1984 and they killed the audience! Buy it and read the amazing liner notes that have good quotes from a lot of heavys that show why you need this.

get out your old santa cruz skateboards and x up your hands for this one! classic old school hardcore!!!! this baby includes the hard to find "think or sink" ep which is totally amazing! if you like ill repute, stalag 13, RKL,7 seconds, uniform choice, youth of today, or early black flag you'll enjoy this cd! the band does, however, get sort of "emo" and soft on there finaly recordings! but this is totally worth it for the comp tracks, the ep, and the shattered dreams lp. all of which are included! ...
