Editorial Review:

Description:
Like I Love Lucy, I Married Joan featured an upstanding, sensible husband married to a wacky but well-meaning wife who caused problems everywhere she went. In this case the husband was Brad Stevens (Jim Backus), a domestic court judge. Each episode opened with Judge Stevens in the courtroom relating to the parties involved some similar situation he had encountered with his wife Joan (Joan Davis). The story would be acted out as the show progressed Slapstick, physical comedy was at the core of the show and the crazier the stunts, the better. (Joan did everything from jitterbugging with a chimp to feeding Brad a hot water bottle!) Joan Davis' real-life daughter, co-starred on the show playing the part of her sister. Ms Davis produced the show under her own production company for NBC and the series ran for three years between 1952 and 1955. Episodes include: Home of the Week, Acrobats, Mabel's Dress, Bev's Boyfriend, Mountain Lodge, Broken Toe, Dreams, The Jailbird, Clothes Budget, Class Reunion, The Allergy, Jealousy. Bonus Features: Digitally Re-Mastered| Scene Selection| Bios| Classic TV Promo. Specs: 2-DVD9s; Dolby Digital Mono; 318 minutes; B&W; 1.33:1 Aspect Ratio; MPAA - NR; Year - 1952/55; SRP - $19.99.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Funny
I used to watch this show yrs ago but they are not as entertaining as I remember . Shes alot like Lucy she gets into all kinds of messes. My 8 yr old daughter enjoys them....They are fun episodes to watch.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great set!
I just finished watching this DVD set and was pretty impressed. There was only one problem, one of the shows on the first disc had the words not matching the mouths for the last 10 minutes of the program. Otherwise, it was a great set, might have to order Set 1 even though I have most of those programs on VHS. Joan was a great comedian, on par with Lucy with her slapstick antics!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Laugh from the Past
What a thrill to see Joan Davis and Jim Backus in their smash it TV Series, "I Married Joan"....to this day, it still brought a lot of laughs as well as take me back to when sit-coms were funny, clean-cut and worth the time in watching. You can't beat
old fashioned slapstick comedy and Joan Davis surely was a pro at that. Well worth the price in gold and highly recommended to anyone whow wants to remember the way comedy should be.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Collection II, finally!
I've waited for I Married Joan, Collection set II to get a DVD release. I have been checking & checking, & at last it's coming out! The first set was great, the DVD quality was pretty good too, given the time the series came out.

Joan Davis is a highly underrated, classy & talented Comedic Actress who left us a great legacy of her work to enjoy for generations to come. I have watched episodes of this series over & over again & am greatly entertained. Joan is ... Read More
