The Goo Goo Dolls have long since traded the bracing, Replacements-lite abandon of their early days for an ethos of heart-on-their-sleeve emotionality wed to a solid heartland pop craftsmanship that's too easily been casually mislabeled. Superstar producer Glen Ballard (who shares many a writing credit here as well) pushes that latter sensibility to its logical extremes, ensuring a slick sonic experience that won't disappoint those who hitched themselves to the Dolls' wagon circa their mid '90s commercial breakthrough. But there remains a nagging sense that this is a band that isn't pushing itself very hard: even the hook-solid opening single "Stay With You" seems downright cautious. Coupled with Ballard's penchant for polish, Johnny Rzeznik's introspection on "Without You Here" hews close to the center line before Robbie Takac's "Listen" gives the album a much-needed jolt of energy. The album's featured cover, a faithful, contemporary AOR-friendly take on Supertramp's "Give a Little Bit," is emblematic of the Goo Goo Dolls fortunes here: They often seemed boxed in by a past that's not necessarily their own. --Jerry McCulley

I patiently awaited this CD for over 3 1/2 weeks. When I finally got a inqury from Amazon, I emailed the vendor immediately. He was supposed to refund my money and I still haven't seen it. Bad customer service.

I thought the Goo Goo Dolls' time had come and gone. I was proven very wrong with this album. From the great, aptly-titled opening track "Stay With You" through the radio staple "Better Days," the album showcases variety without showing a weak spot. A great album overall, and a must for fans of the Dolls.

Let Love In by The Goo Goo Dolls is an so-so album. Not as good as Dizzy Up the Girl or Gutterflower, but still beautiful and the lyrics are heartfelt. The problem I have with this cd is I wish John Rzeznick sang all the songs, his voice is so much better than Robbie's, oh well. Songs I like on this album include: Stay With You, Better Days, Let Love In, and Give a Litte Bit. The rest is mostly filler but hey this album has a lot of heart so that's a plus.

This is another amazing album from an extremely talented band! The lyrics and melodies are full of honesty, richness, and emotion. I love this album and I'll continue to admire and respect the Goos for many years to come. They are my number one favorite band of all time, and they have always amazed me with their talent and effort. They have definitely proved that they can always make fantastic music and never let their fans down. The Goo Goo Dolls are the best!
