I bought the DareDevil Spade bits to replace some of my regular Bosch Rapid feed spade bits and the difference was incredible! I was using an 18v Dewalt cordless drill and the 7/8" bit grabbed so much wood that it stopped the drill on a freshly charged battery!

I had to cut a dozen 1 1/4" holes into 4X4s. I dulled two hole saws and asked my son to pick a spade bit while he was out. The guy at the hardware store swore these spades were the best tool he had seen in sometime. Being the skeptic I am I figured these were just another set of paddle bits. These bits cleanly and quickly drilled the dozen holes I was completely impressed. Be careful when using these bits, especially when using the 1" or larger. The "side-blades" will grab the material (was only boring a 1/4" thick of marine lumber)and stop; the torque will twist the drill right out of your hands and may cause injury to your wrist. I'm only going to use in a drill press going forward. Be warned and be careful.
