I was introduced to Julie Edwards (as she penned her books then) back in grade 5, all the way back in 1979, in Miss Hansen's class. We listened in rapt attention to this spellbinding book each day during reading period, and each day, when Miss Hansen would come to the end of period, we would beg for more. I remember taking the other copy out of the library and reading it over and over, memorizing it. I loved it so much. I loved the Professor and his take on the imagination. I worried about the kids, and wanted to climb inside the book and have the adventure with them. When I became a teenager I recommended the book to all the kids I babysat, hoping they'd come to love reading as much as I did. In 1989 when the GST was being introduced to Canada, I decided to order the book before it came into effect, and I found out that it had been out of print for some time. I was thrilled that I had managed to procure one of the last hard copies that the distributor had. I read that book to all my neices and nephews, and I'm sure I drove them nuts. I wanted them to learn the art of IMAGINATION. When I came onto this website and saw that it was back in print and in soft cover no less, I was thrilled! I am so happy that a whole new generation of children will be exposed to the adventures of the Potter children and the Professor, and will learn how to use that thing called an imagination. With TV, movies and video games threatening to rob our children of the capacity to generate their own creative ideas, this book can help them learn how to do just that. I know that even though I already had a fertile imagination, this book sowed seeds to help that imagination grow even more. I highly recommend this book to children of all ages. I still like to read my well worn copy, and I like to read it to my neices and nephews too!

This book is an incredibly imagitive and fancifull adventure.
I (as someone who dosent like to read) thought this book was soo kool it will defanatly atract people who like the andventures of narnia etc. I will always love this book 5 STARS

P.S. also try out the seventh tower books starting from book 1 it also is an incredible book it starts slow but the momentum greatly increases and makes u want to read more.

This book was one of the best books I have ever read. It went into a lot of detial about how things are supposed to look. It kept you entranced in the plot of the book. I recommend it to all who read this reviw

...I really enjoed this book. I highly recommend it. I loved it because it had alot of fairy tail creatures in it. Its a wonderful book where you use your imageination and it has a great ending with love and happiness! This is a great book for 8-12 year olds and especially for 9 year olds!

The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles is a great book. It's about some kids who stumbble across a brilliant professor wanting to get into the world of the whangdoodles. The children go through many exercices to get them ready for the trip. After they finally make it to the whangdoodle word an adventure unfolds no one expeted.
