I LOVE that this book is still in print. I read this book about 50 million times when I was about 8. It was worth it everytime. This is one of the most imaginative and enchanting books I've ever read, as your transformed into the world of your imagination, with no disappointments, and each page is better than the last. I'd strongly recommend this book to any child with an imagination. Happy reading!

Do you know anything about Whiffle Birds? How about the High-Behind Splintercat? Or have you ever heard of a Whangdoodle? This book leads you through crazy adventures such as being attacked by the Imperial Sidewinder guard and riding on a boat that runs on jokes. Welcome to Whangdoodle Land!
Lindy, Tom, and Ben, three regular schoolchildren, accidentally run into Professor Savant, who changes their boring lives forever. After getting closer to the professor, he teaches them how to see the world with new eyes. He teaches them about the many colors, sounds, and smells of their world to gain the imagination needed to make it to the parallel dimension. As they get farther in Whangdoodle Land they meet more challenges such as the Prock, the prime minister of Whangdoodle Land, the interfering Swamp Gaboons, and the large aggressive Gyascutus. The question is though, can they make the long treck to the Whangdoodle?
I loved this book because of the fast pace and smooth read. Edwards colors my mind with visual imagery of different shapes, and sizes. I felt as if I was right there with Lindy, Tom, and Ben, going through the adventures with them. I recommend this book to any person who liked the magic of Harry Potter.

The first time I ever heard of the book, The Last of the Really Great Wangdoodles, I was in third grade, my teacher had decided she was going to read it aloud to us. At first I was skeptical, already reading books of high level at the time, but I fell in love with the book anyways. Its smooth composition and astonishing imagery have made it one of my favorite books.
The book follows the story of the three Potter kids, and a Professor named Savant. The professor teaches the kids to enhance their feelings. Then they all travel to meet the last Wangdoodle, along with many other wonderful creatures.
Now in high school, and writing my own novel, I find that I flit back to memories of this book, and my writers block is instantly gone. Though the level of writing is for younger readers, I find that it is still a great book to read when looking for something philosophical, profound, original, and truly inspiring.
When I first bought the book, and found that the star of Sound of Music, Julie Andrews, wrote this book, I was amazed at how well paralleled her writing skill is with her acting. Julie is an aritist, and her book, The Last of the Really Great Wangdoodles is a wonderful book for anyone of any age.

I give this book four stars, which is highly recommended. This book is very adventurous! It has lots of dangerous events. It is easy to read, but it is long. So, if you do not have a lot of time, do not start it. It will take awhile to the amazing end of the book!
One day Ben, Tom and Lindy Potter meet professor Savant at the zoo. Professor Savant tells them about the amazing Whangdoodle. The Whangdoodle is the king of Whangdoodle.
On Halloween Lindy was dared to knock on the scary house's door. It appears that it is the professor's house. He tells them more about the Whangdoodle. They prepare for their adventure to Whangdoodleland. But, there is one person who does not want the kids and the professor to meet the whangdoodle. This person is "The Prock" who is the prime ministerof Whangdoodleland.
The children and the professor got to Whangdoodleland. They hit many dangerous things and see many amazing animals like the Whiffle Bird and the Oink. You will have to read the book to see if they find the Whangdoodle...
