Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another Roald Dahl Masterpiece by Liam Walsh
I loved the humor. I loved all the interesting, humorous, information. Where does Roald Dahl get all those creative ideas? Roald Dahl is my favorite author. Yet again I am amused a lot. I loved hearing all thse interesting facts about the BFG. I guess Roald Dahl never fails. Roald Dahl is my favorite author, and it will always be that way.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - BFG
The story is about an orphan girl called Sophie. One night when Sophie cannot sleep during the `witching hour', she looks out of the window of her dormitory and sees a giant blowing something into bedroom windows down the street. The giant sees her, and although she tries to hide in her bed, he reaches through the window and carries her away to his home.

Fortunately for Sophie, she has been abducted by the WORLD'S ONLY GOOD GIAINT, the Big Friendly Giant (or BFG). Operating in the strictest secrecy, the BFG catches dreams them better. At night, he takes his bottled dreams and his blowpipe and gives the dreams to children. When he catches a nightmare, he destroys it so that nobody will ever have to experience it.

The other giants are not so pleasant, and go out into the world to steal and eat children. There is little else for them to eat where they live; the BFG because he refuses to eat people, must survive on a revolting vegetable known as a snozzcumber. Luckily he is also able to make a delicious drink called frobscottle, which is fizzy and infinitely more pleasant than snozzcumber. It is also rather unusual in that the bubble s in the drink travel down wards and therefore cause the drinker to break wind instead of burping.

Sophie and the BFG become friends, and Sophie persuades the BFG that something has to be done about the evil giants. Together they develop a plan to get the Queen of England to help them. The BFG mixes a dream which will show the Queen what the giants do; when complete, it is the worst nightmare she has ever encountered. They set off for Buckingham Palace and blow the dream into the Queen's bedroom. The BFG then leaves Sophie on the Queen's windowsill and retreats into the palace gardens.

When the Queen awakens, Sophie tells her that all her dream was true. Because the dream included the knowledge that Sophie would be there when she woke up, the Queen believes her, and speaks with the BFG. After considerable effort by the palace staff, the BFG is given a lavish breakfast, and the Queen begins work on eliminating the evil giants.

Eventually a huge fleet of helicopters follows the BFG to the giants' homeland. While the child-eating giants are asleep, the army tie them up, hang them under several helicopters each, and fly them to London Zoo, where a special large pit has been constructed from which they will not be able to escape.

As punishment for their lifetimes of child-eating, the giants are forced to eat SNOZZCUMBERS for the rest of their lives. The BFG is given a nicer place to live, and becomes a writer. Sophie is teaching BFG how to read and write properly and she lives with BFG.

The nine human-eating giants in the story are:
1. The Fleshlumpeater,
2. The Bonecruncher,
3. The Manhugger,
4. The Childchewer,
5. The Meatdripper
6. The Gizzardgulper,
7. The Maidmasher,
8. The Bloodbottler, and
9. The Butcher Boy.

Have you ever read a book that will make you laugh out loud? Well the BFG will make you do just that! This book could actually make you fall down laughing.
Every kid should read this book the BFG because of it's more of a kid's book and it's where a girl and a giant become friends. Also he does a special something that makes the book very funny.
The characters in this book can really easy to relate to. Well you could encounter a giant and become friends with it. Plus after you are friends with a giant you could burp with it.
This book mostly takes place in her house, outside, and in the giants cave. In the front she encountered a shadow near the house that was down the street in a house (hand's) coming at her she was scared and later in the story by the cave sneaking by a lot of sleeping giants until something happens.
This book is mostly about friendship and not being afraid of giants. They become friends and do things and she turns into not being afraid of giants.
Overall every kid should read this book The BFG because it's more of a kid's book and it's where a girl and a giant become friends. Also he does a special something that makes the book very funny.

The BFG Book Review

Everybody who loves a fantastic story must read, The BFG, by Roald Dahl because it is interesting and fun to read because the author told about things with funny names. The journey begins with The Big Friendly Giant, snatches Sophie from her bed at the orphanage. They get to know each other. The author comes up with weird names. This is an example when Sophie learns about bloodbottlers and how mean they are. This story is full of adventure, fun and shows a very creative story.
The BFG took Sophie dream catching. The BFG eats snoozcumbers, almost like cucumbers. The Bloodbottlers plan to go to England and eat children. The BFG found out about the evil plan. Will they save them in time?
You can see the bond forming between Sophie and the BFG. First the BFG kidnapped Sophie out of her bed. Sophie was scared. Who ever heard of a giant? Sophie sees through the dirty clothes. Will they stay friends?
The setting is almost fantasy and the author makes you feel like your there. The BFG lives in a dark, dirty cave. The bad giants roam the land looking for little children to eat. They said the best ones were in England. Of coarse the Queen of England lives in England. Will Sophie and the BFG save children in England in time? If you want to know you have to read the book.
Overall I say anyone who loves an interesting book must read this book. I learned about friendship, how Sophie and the BFG stuck together. I also think the bad giants will be banned from eating children forever. If you like happy stories this book is for you. This is a happy book. I give this book 7 out of 10.
