Unabridged audiobooks are supposed to be the original text. This is not the case. This audiobook is revised. Even the name of the Indian has been changed. The packaging lists this as "Complete & Unabridged". It is read by the author who knows the text, so she knew that it was a revision when she read it (She probably made the revision), making this an even more odious lie. If an author is going to revise thier story, let us know. Don't get me wrong updating is okay, but let us know.
I got this audio book so my kids could listen and read along. With the inexplicable changes, it was useless for this purpose. Again don't get me wrong, the story is still good. I just feel that the words "Complete & Unabridged" should be a standard, that means the original text, UNCHANGED.

This story takes place somewhere in the past at Omri's room. It's important to talk about his room because the Indian(Little Bear) lives in a magic cupboard in Omri's room. The reason it mostly takes place in Omri's room is because almost everything happens in his room.
This book is mostly about a boy named Omri and his Indian that came to life by a magic cupboard. The cupboard is small and white with a mirror in it and on the outside, it has a keyhole. In the middle of the story, Omri figures out that he can turn plastic figures into real people.
In my opinion, I think this book is great because of the plastic figures turning into real people. I also like it because he does interesting things. I would recommend this book because it is a great book and I think you would like it too.

The Indian in the Cupboard, by Lynne Banks, is an entertaining book. The book is about a young boy, named Omri, who brings a toy Indian to life. He brings the Indian to life by putting the toy in a cupboard, which he received on his birthday. As the book progresses, the plot constantly changes, either by Omri discovering new things or the actions of his friends.
For example, when he discovers that the cupboard can bring plastic toys to life, Omri brings supplies for Little Bear, the Indian. Like a horse, an ax, a wife, a bow and arrow, and even a deer, to hunt. Another example is, when his best friend, Patrick, brings another toy to life named Boone, a cowboy. This creates a nuisance in the book, because this gives Little Bear a person to fight and argue with. Also, the actions change the plot to, like when Boone gets shot by Little Bear.
In conclusion, the plot constantly changes as the story progresses. Like, when Little Bear and Boone fight, or when Patrick brings another toy to life, and also the part when Boone gets shot by an arrow. These events build tons of suspense which makes this book fantastic!

The Indian in the Cupboard, by Lynne Banks, is a fantastic book. The main characters include Little Bear, a small Indian figure; Omri and Patrick; and a small cowboy figure, named Boone. As the story progresses, the characters learn responsibility. When Omri finds out that the cupboard is magical and that it can make toy figures real, it's overwhelmingly amazing.
The book really caught my attention when I found out that there is a fierce Indian warrior. For people who like adventure, this is the book for you. This book is full of exiting and ecstatic scenes. From being shot at by cowboys and Indians, to playing pranks on others.
One thing that really made me never want to put the book down was the suspense at the end of each chapter. In one of the chapters, Patrick gets called to the principal's office. By the end of the chapter, you could clearly see it on the principals face that he knew about the live figures. The moment of this book is so unpredictable and can change at any time. It can go from hysterically funny, to anxious, then shocked.
I liked this book because of what the characters are and the troubles they get into. Like when they get caught supposedly for shoplifting, or even the time that Little Bear was almost eaten by a rat, but those are only some. Because of these accidents, the characters learn responsibility for they're acts.
This book will make you smile. It's suspenseful and thrilling. For me, it has been one of my favorite books I've ever read. Lynne Banks adds a lot of detail and excitement. It's a great book. I loved it and I'm sure you will too. It's a magical story that teaches responsibility. I recommend it to all ages.
