- excellent Drake sisters' tale
Dr. Libby Drake uses her healing gift to restore to health injured biochemist Ty Derrick, suffering from a head trauma, but for the first time a reaction occurs and she almost dies. When Ty recovers he rejects outright that Libby and her sisters can perform magic. Both are attracted to one another in spite of his scorning her skill and though he is short and abrasive towards everyone including her, she senses a caring heart.

When an unknown assailant tries to kill the couple, they wonder who the intended victim is, she or him. The Drake siblings feel strongly that something evil is coming their way so conclude that they, including Libby, are the target, but she wonders if Ty due to his work might be the real object of a malevolent killer growing stronger.

DANGEROUS TIDES is an excellent Drake sisters' tale due to the fascinating relationship between the witch and the scientist; however, interestingly the passion between them at times places the action on the back burner. Still Christine Feehan provides a strong story line that moves rather quickly forward as the lead couple "battle" one another before the real battle begins. Newcomers will want to read the previous Drake thrillers (see OCEANS OF FIRE and MAGIC IN THE WIND).

- Eh... not my favorite.
Christine Feehan is fantastic at weaving together multiple stories, and leaving you hungry for more. But there in lies the problem with this book...

Although Libby was good and brilliant, she was overshadowed by her sisters Elle and Hannah. Quite frankly, they made Libby seem quite boring. Throughout the book, I was plagued with questions about what was going to happen to Elle and Hannah; I should have been focusing on Libby and Ty. I can't fault Feehan for wanting to leave us breadcrumbs... but she shouldn't have let the side stories overpower the main plot.

Libby's and Ty's characters were blah - Libby's magic didn't make her a unique character at all. Elle and Hannah both have the same ability to heal people. And Ty, although brilliant, is bit too immature for my liking. I kept seeing him as a boy, and not a man.

I'm a big fan of Christine Feehan - but I agree with the reviewer before me - go to the library for this one, or buy it used. You're only going to want to read it once.

This book was a sharp disappointment. Ty, the hero was annoying and whiny. Libby was too good (even her sisters think so). The only real character was Sam and wait until the end for the not so surprising ending. Too much forshadowing about Elle, Hannah and Jolie. I can wait to read their books at the library. All and all don't pay full price for this one.

- Fantastic Story
DANGEROUS TIDES is a really sweet romance story. It has it all: sexy love scenes, action, romance, and the unity of family. You can feel the love and affection growing between Libby and Ty. DANGEROUS TIDES adds a great addition to this series. You will enjoy the camaraderie between the sisters and can't help but revisit each sisters love story. I can't wait until Hannah, Joley, and Elle's stories come out.

I keep waiting for this series to get boring and it definitely hasn't. I'm not going to write a plot summary because others already have or you can look above from Amazon. But the character development in this book was great. It not only let you into Libby and Tyson's lives but the other sisters' lives as well. It foreshadows the future books' main characters also. I loved how Ms. Feehan gave you different looks at who might be doing things to Libby and Ty. I didn't feel this book was wrapped up too quick. I loved the passion from the characters and how they came to know each other through the years of watching each other. I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I think even those who don't read paranormal romance would enjoy it.
