I'm a fan of South Beach I admit, but I could never stick to it for the long-term, as most diets, I was always looking for something extreme rather than common sense. One thing I didn't like about South Beach was the emphasis on dairy and artificial sweeteners, which I think is very unhealthy. It's also much more do-able than South Beach. In South Beach, it's no grains for the first 2 weeks, and the after that, you can start out with 1 fruit and one grain maximum per day for a couple of weeks. That is not enough to maintain energy levels. I also like Sonoma's emphasis on natural foods and I do believe the glass of wine every day has alot to do with why Medittereanen folks have healthy hearts, in addition to the healthy foods they eat. The only thing I don't like about Sonoma is all the cooking, but if you get the main ideas of the diet down, you can do your own thing! I also don't follow exactly the portion sizes, 1/2 cup of pasta? Please! I'd rather have a nice 1 cup serving and take a brisk walk. I'm still losing weight, so go ahead and have a little more if you wish. Overall, I believe Sonoma is the best diet out there...

I have struggled with weight loss for a long time and this is the first diet I love! I lost 12 lbs in 10 days and after 2 months I still love to eat the Sonoma way. My husband even likes the recipes!!

I absolutely love this diet, this is the first diet that I am not hungry on and do not feel like I am depriving myself, and it really helps with cravings just like she says it will. The only problem, which isn't really a problem at all if you can afford it, is that it can be expensive to buy all the ingredients if you follow her recipies and meal plans step by step, but it was the best way for me to loose weight. I've lost 9 lbs on it, and going for another 11. I would definately recommend this book & the diet.

This is a lush diet and simple to follow without feeling like you are eating. Based on the harvest foods in the Sonoma Valley, the Sonoma Diet is a hearty calculated fat flush in time for summer or a special ocassion that provides a template for maintenance. If you have heard of the Sacred Heart diet, this is similar with the exception of more choices and variety. You will feel full and not deprived. Part of its benefits is that your taste buds are tantalized with the different foods allowed and in combination together.

The Sonoma Diet offers readers a better way of eating without starving! Thank you! Enjoy your foods and don't over eat! Exercise did help me flatten my stomach faster as the author suggested exercise would. Enjoyed reading a simple but reasonable outlook on eating for a change!
