After all the eventful happenings in Kyle Rayner's life, he decides that he has had enough of Earth for a while, and decides to go on an extended road trip with his girlfriend. This leaves John Stewart to mind the store for the Green Lanterns on Earth. Space is a natural place for Green Lanterns to tour, obviously, so this isn't too bad a run of adventures.

Pretty much all of Judd Winick's (Outsiders, Green Arrow) run on Green Lantern is forgettable, particularly Passing the Torch. This TPB begins with GL Kyle Rayner and girlfriend Jade Scott attempting to resurrect the Guardians, while GL John Stewart adjusts to being back in the super hero life. Passing the Torch is very convoluted, and the twists and turns are so easily predictable that the only way you won't see them coming is if you're on life support. That being said, this TPB is somewhat important to the Green Lantern mythos, considering that Kyle is the one who basically resurrects the Green Lantern Corps after being decimated by Paralax. That's about the only thing that saves Passing the Torch from rotting on the shelf, but other than that, this can only be recommended to the hardest of hardcore Green Lantern fans.
