I'm telling you right now, if you hate the Teen Titans cartoon because you think it's too childish and Japanese styled, then buy this right now (you can get it used for $5). Likewise if you like the Teen Titans cartoon, then buy this right away as well..... then shoot yourself for liking that god-awful cartoon. This comic book is not for the "dumbass, A.D.D. (no offense to the folks that really have it), steal all of the good 80's ideas and completely ruin them" generation. True to the title though, this book will probably be enjoyed the most by teens. I'd say 13 to 17 year olds would probably relate to the characters more than any other ages. Anyway, on to the review:
This is a collection of the first seven issues of the newest Teen Titans comic. It's got a pretty sweet opening of one of the original Titans named Starfire trying to recruit a new team of Titans. The new team is Cyborg, Starfire, Superboy, Wonder Girl, Robin, Changeling, Impulse, and Raven (though she isn't in this book much). Anyway, we get to see almost all of the new Titans with their mentors having their own reasons to join. Batman convinces Robin to join, Impulse is desperate to prove himself to the Flash, Superboy is bored as hell being normal, and Wonder Girl basically doesn't fit in anywhere else.
The book starts off with a fire on the island of Alcatraz in San Fransisco. Of course the Titans are called in on their first mission together to rescue some folks and to stop the fire. Unfortunately the Titans find out that the whole fire was orchestrated by Deathstroke, an assassin who's been trying to stop the Titans ever since his son died as one of the team-mates. Impulse is the first one to find Deathstroke and Deathstroke sends a terrible message to the Titans through Impulse. That's just the opening, after that there are numerous other awesome story arcs like: the re-birth of Raven, the evolution of Impulse into Kid Flash II, the secret of who Deathstroke really is, and a battle with the JLA. You read right, after a quarrel between Wonder Woman and Starfire, a brawl erupts between the Titans and the JLA. Needless to say, it's awesome.
I have a few minor flaws with the book. One is the addition of Krypto the Superdog who I really hate and I wish they'd left him out. I also dislike the forced romance between Superboy and Wonder Woman. Raven also does not have any real action in this book at all, except when she pops up at saves all of the Titan's lives and one obscure moment. They also never really show why Raven was resurrected, they just say hey we're some cult with a big tub of blood, here comes Raven, cut to Raven running through the forest and getting shot in the back. Few grievances aside, this is a good book and I can't wait until the issues 7-14 trade comes out in November.

art, story, characters everything is exceptional in this new titans gn. I'm not too keen on DC comics usually but this comic brings things to a new level and totally has brought a new fan to the dc universe. with an amazing beginning and battles between the new versions of the old super heroes, a cloned malfunctioning superman and a cockier robin added to the mix. not too mention all the other phenomenal characters this ones sure to become a classic.

I was originally turned off the Teen Titans comics because of the atrocious TV series, but the front cover of this collection intrigued me because of the inclusion of Robin and the former Young Justice group. When I bought it, it totally exceeded my expectations. The story starts after the death of Troia, and it chronicles the first adventures of the newly formed Teen Titans, with Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, Raven, Robin, Wonder Girl, Kid Flash (Formerly Impulse) and Superboy as they take on Deathstroke and the JLA. Now I am a Teen Titan Fan, and I can't wait for the next Teen Titan graphic novel. (It's kinda hard to get subscriptions to comics in the Philippines.)

I first got hooked on Teen Titans when my best friend's father gave me some issues of The Titans. I really got interested when I heard that they were re-launching Teen Titans. One day, I was in a comic-book store and I found Teen Titans: A Kid's Game sitting on a shelf. I waged an internal debate as to whether or not I should buy it, and the side that wanted the collection won. So I bought it, and I haven't regretted it at all. I loved everything about this collection: the union of the new Teen Titans, the character development, and the unexpected twists. If you ever see this collection, buy it! Don't take my word for it; buy it and read it for yourself.

Geoff Johns has always been a master of telling these sort of classic superhero stories, while making them exceptable for today's readers, whose tastes have changed, and this tale of young superheroes joining together and trying to find their way in the world with the guidance of those who were once in their position is some of the best work he's done.
The stories in this collection are fun and exciting, but still have emotion and character development. There are twists and cliffhangers, and some classic moments, some comedic, and some eery. Highly recommended.
