A good story of the Green Lantern Corps Torchbearer. Kyle Rayner struggles with being Ion and finding himself!

When we last saw Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, now known as Ion the Torchbearer, he was getting used to his new role in the Green Lantern Corps. The Dying Flame finds Kyle further acclimating himself with his new, vast abilities, while writer Ron Marz ties up some loose ends from the fallout of Infinite Crisis (such as the two kids finding that mysterious lantern in a closing panel to that story). In the meantime, we learn who was manipulating Alex Nero in the last TPB, and we also learn just who has been "monitoring" (hint, hint) Kyle and the Guardians, which plants the seeds for further events that may very well lead to more catastrophe. The Dying Flame concludes with tragedy, and there's appearances from Kyle's ex Donna Troy, fellow GL Guy Gardner, and the newly returned Captain Atom as well. Like the first TPB before it, the only real downside to The Dying Flame is the art of Greg Tochinni, whose exaggerated character models are an acquired taste. That aside, Marz has crafted another winner with the character he created way back when, further adding to the massive Green Lantern mythos and setting up further adventures for Kyle Rayner.
