Wow, I never thought it would happen. Superman died! Great story, well-written, well-drawn. The bad guy, Doomsday, looks awsome. I can't wait to find out were he came from. Get all three in the Death of Superman series, it ties the story all up in a nice bow. Anyone who likes Superman stories will love (and hate) the Death of Superman. It almost feels like it really happened.

This is the greatest Superman comic book ever! You are probably wondering,"How the heck did a 10-year old get ahold of this?" I found this in an old shoebox in the basement. Graphic novel indeed! This is incredibly violent. But it's more than just mindless boxing.I wouldn't recommend this for 5-year olds.(alias:my brother)Age group:10-70.Content includes:violence, cussing, destruction, death, and blood.Think that's bad?The violence doesn't even compare with today's comics.I was flipping through a Spider-Man comic in a bookstore.Spider-Man smashed a man's face into a concrete girder!Terrible! There are several heroes in this book that are beaten to a pulp.First Guy Gardner(don't know the heck he is)is beaten until his face is puffy!Booster Gold(still don't who these guys are)has his head stuck in a car door and slammed shut.Fire and Ice(who the heck are these people)get a good k.o. x) And Blue Beetle is bashed face first into pipes and concrete.Superman,on the other hand, puts up a good, bloody fight to the finish. At the very end, each fighter throws their final punch, knocking the blood out of each other's mouth, the fight is over. Both dead.Greatest book ever!

I think that the book the death of superman is a good book because of all of the different super heroes mixed into the book and all of the action into the whole book. The best part in the whole book is the last fight between doom and superman. The cool and different gadget in the hole story and all of the seems that showed all of the super heroes that got hart and all of them pitching to save all of the people in and throw out the story. I think that the part that I liked the most is the part when the super heroes got together and tried to kill doom all by them self's but only super man could do it and no other superhero can do but him and no other superhero can do.

I'm not kidding. During the serial, in the early 90s, there was a week that we had $5 to our name. (Granted, we had a very full pantry, refrigerator, and freezer.) I spent I don't know how much on two issues of this serial, probably $2.50., and I never (to this day!) have lived it down.
DC gave themselves the unenviable task of killing the one superhero that was not, aside from krptonite, "killable". They forced themselves to be creative. We would learn in a later release how Doomsday came to be created, and realize just how creative they were.
Kudos, guys. Good job.

The Death of Superman. By all rights, it should be one of the biggest and best events in comic history. Unfortunately, it's absolute rubbish, nothing but a protracted fight between Superman and some monster who has no background story, no personality, no motivation, and not even any interesting powers beyond being very, very strong. Each issue is the same; Superman chases down Doomsday on his path of pointless destruction, they exchange a few blows, and Doomsday jumps away, moving one step closer to the big showdown in Metropolis. Along the way, Superman says how tired he is and marvels at how strong Doomsday seems. Think I'm ruining the plot? There isn't a plot to ruin! Just awful. To see how to properly destroy a superhero, check out Knightfall, Bane vs Batman.
