Despite what others say about this film I give it two thumbs up. What alot of people dont know is that Half of the plot was cut out of this film such as: who does Clark sell his Farm to, what becomes of young Jermey, and The fact that Superman defeats Nuclear Man Early on in the movie and Nuclear Man returns Only to get bitch slaped Again by Superman. This movie has heart and Captures the magic that the first Superman did when viewed in its Long Original Form. Who ever edited this movie should be shot twice, brought back to life and shot again.
Thank you. -Brandon.

I GIVE A 1 STAR TO THE DVD'S NOT THE MOVIES. JUST TO LET YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT A NEW COLLECTOR'S BOX SET COMING OUT SOON. READ BELOW.
Yes... looks like it's true. We've known for a while now that Warner Home Video was working on new DVD special editions of the Superman films to tie in with the release of Bryan Singer's Superman Returns later this year (in theaters 6/30), but now we have the first actual confirmation... from Ilya Salkind, who co-produced the first three Superman films! Salkind has acknowledged that he's working with Warner on the new DVDs, and that all of the films in the series are being restored and given deluxe new special edition treatment, a-la last year's Batman Anthology collection. By far the best news in all this, is that it seems that Warner is FINALLY allowing Richard Donner to create his original director's cut of Superman II! How damn cool is that?! As many of you know, Donner directed Superman: The Movie and most of Superman II back to back, but was eventually fired from the sequel. Director Richard Lester was hired to replace him, and it's Lester's cut of the film that we've seen all these years. What's cool is that Lester's theatrical cut of the film is being given special edition treatment as well, so you'll be able to fully explore BOTH versions of Superman II on DVD this summer. Lester MAY even do an interview for the DVD - something he's been reluctant to do over the years given the controversy. This information comes from Salkind via The Superman Homepage fan site, which expects to publish a full interview with Salkind in the coming weeks. Very cool news indeed (though keep in mind that until Warner announces this set, it's all still unofficial). Thanks to Bits reader Matt K. for the heads-up on this.

Superman IV: The Quest of Peace is a good movie, I don't care what others say! the fourth and last Superman movie staring the late Christopher Reeve is my favorite! this movie starrs Christopher Reeve, Gene Hackman, Margot Kidder, Jackie Cooper, Mark Pillow, and others was good movie. This movie story centered around the Nuclear Arms race during a time when countries like USA and Russia were both powerful countries. In this movie, Superman (Christopher Reeve) is influences by a young boy named Jeremy. Jeremy asks Superman to get rid of all of the Nuclear Missles in the world so there would not a be Nuclear arms theat to the world. Superman decides to listen to Jeremy and he gets rid of the Nuclear Missles by throwing them into space. But Lex Luther (Gene Hackman) escapes form Prison and has new plan to get rid of the Man of Steel. He along with his nephew, Leni decided to steal a trand of Superman's hair. the hair contains Superman's DNA and Lex Luthor uses it to create a powerful Nuclear man (Mark Pillow)! Superman and Nuclear man are introdues by Lex Luthor and they battle on Earth, USA,Italy, Great Wall of China, and all the way to the moon! this was well written story by Christopher Reeve! He put a-lot of effort to make this movie better than Superman III. I like this movie very much so I don't care what others say about it. It's my favorite of all four Superman films. A+

Well, some 14-year-old children apparently think this movie is a FLOP. They think they know "the meaning of movies." Hahaha! The 'meaning of movies'?? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. That 14-year-old brat doesn't even know the meaning of the acne cream he has to smear all over his gangly adolescent face.
As any mature adult with even half a brain knows, Superman IV is the finest superhero film of all time, including any in the Batman, X-Men, or Spiderman franchises. Mariel Hemingway is incredible, the special effects are years ahead of their time, and Nuclear Man is the greatest and most amazing villian ever captured on film.
The clincher? Jon Cryer. Need I say more? Five stars!

People who enjoy Superman 4 are idiots or don't have a life and deserve to be beaten for liking this movie. Superman 4 should be banned out of the series for good. It's ok for kids to enjoy this movie because they don't know the meaning of movies yet but for those who are older and have a brain of movies and enjoy this piece of crap you have no life at all. I'm 14 years old and know the meaning of movies and I don't like Superman 4 it sucks and the special effects are crap. Superman 1 and 2 rocks! Stay away from 3 and 4 they don't belong in the series.
