I don't think anyone can think of Superman without thinking of this score!! I am a fan of all things Williams but this is right next to Indiana Jones for my number one favorite

This is one of the best soundtracks I have ever heard in my entire life!John Williams is a talented composer,and he proves it on this CD. If you thought this was good wait till you see the movie!

- A Classic score, perfectly capturing the spirit of the film
Although John Williams work on Star Wars is his most famous, this is, in my opinion, his best. From the now familliar main theme to the brilliantly orchestrated "Superfeats", the album perfectly presents and captures the spirit of the film. However, there are many peices of music from the film left out of this album, two of which were on the vinyl and cassette releases but not the CD, hence my rating of only 4 stars.

John Williams is often associated with some of the biggest blockbusters of all time. In the often overlooked Superman he gives us one of his best ever. Many people don't give this score its praise but it really is out of this world. John Williams is the man!!!

Call me audacious, but I think it is. It perfectly captures the innocence, power and optimism of the character of Superman.

I have to agree with the popular notion that Kidder's reading of "Can you read my mind" left much to be desired. In fact I don't even think they should have been sung. The lyrics had their high points but, but much of the text was chosen simply because it rhymed ("you can fly...you belong in the sky") The whole thing would have been more effective if it hadn't been written as a song, but rather an inner monologue.

I'm afraid this one weak spot isn't even enough to dock the CD a star. Williams' orchestral score is just too perfect
