I bought this for a Europe trip to power various chargers and some medical equipment I have to use, and I was concerned about which to get after reading some other reviews. This product worked great for me everywhere I stayed during the trip!

I bought this for a trip to France. The plug itself was quite heavy so I had to support it with a book to keep it in the wall (or I suppose you could have someone hold it in).

I repeatedly charged my camera battery (low) and used a hair dryer (high) with no problem... but my flat iron was detroyed/fried after 3 days useage so my review is mixed.

- Works well but not flawless
I used this device, and it works well as advertised with some notes:
1. It is heavy, as said before, but given that it has two modes of operation, its weight is justified.
2. Using a battery charger that doesn't drain much power with it, the converter became hot causing the charger adaptor to become hot as well. This is by plugging the converter for about 4 hours!
3. The modes of operation are do NOT provide continuous wattage coverage meaning that:
* First mode is: 0 - 50W (from zero to fifty)
* Second mode : 500 - 1600w (from five-hundreds to one thousand and six hundreds)
This means that the area from 50-500W is not supported by the device!
4. The device is fused.

Rating:

- Dual Wattage converter
This kit is quite heavy which is hard when your suitcase cannot weigh more than 50 lbs (airline regulations). I used this product for my straight iron and ended up melting the wattage converter. Not sure if I had it set on the wrong wattage or what? Ended up throwing it away while in Ireland so that I didn't have the added weight in my luggage since the converter was ruined anyway. Wouldn't buy again, but didn't rate it super low because I probably did something wrong which ruined it.

- Pretty heavy adapter
Since there is no extension wire for this, we have to connect it directly to the terminal. I am finding it difficult to use with my bose speaker's adapter(which is again equally heavy). It also smells a lot while in use. Again, you can use it with only one device at a time.
