Music : Blue

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - This CD will not make one Blue...
Each song on this CD will pull you in. It is a brilliant follow-up to their first CD. It may quite possibly be on the same level as the first CD. I love each song on this CD many of the songs are just wonderful such as "Ten Days Late" and the best one "Slow Motion". Yet, every song holds its own. As it is a wonderfully produced CD and shows the talent that Third Eye Blind has! A wonderful CD that each should own.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Still good...
I'd have to agree with many reviews I've read in the past: while 3EB's debut album contained all good songs, 'Blue' contains some very good ones (including some of my favorite 3EB songs), but some good songs, but not as likeable as the rest of their work.

The album has 2 types of songs: 'pop' songs (such as 'Never Let You Go', '10 Days Late'), and 'rockier' songs (such as 'Darkness'). Most people either like one or the other. Sophomore albums usually have that trait of not knowing where to go, and whether to publish something that has more radio apppeal or to go on with the style they've tried setting with their first album. 3EB has made a good effort of combining the two, and even though I can't say I love all the songs on this album, I still find them a lot better than a lot of other stuff...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent Disc from a TRUE Fan
I can tell when they're good. I can tell when they sucked at something. I almost hated Out Of The Vein. I LOVED their first disc (I listen to it almost every week).
This was a great CD. And I will stand by that testament. The only song that I have a problem in the least with is the sell-out track Never Let You Go. Yeah, it sucked. The rest of the album is all rockers (with the exceptions of Slow Motion and Darwin) so get over it. People whine about TEB because of Never Let You Go getting so much airplay.
The people who whine call them sellouts. The people who call them sellouts obviously forgot the friggin exhaustion of Hows It Gonna Be, Semi-Charmed Life, and Losing A Whole Year by the radio machine. I didn't hear Never Let You Go nearly as much as I heard those three songs.
Standout tracks on the album: Wounded, 10 Days Late, Camouflage, and Red Summer Sun. Check it out, y'all.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Not one to be missed.
This is Definitly third eye blinds worst album of the 3. Some of the songs seem to be very stop start and dont tug the heart strings or rock out like they should.
Maybe this album was too mature, too dark for fans of the first album to adjust to.
The first song 'Anything' is a markd departure to the first song on the last album 'Losing a whole year'.
'Anything' shows a desperation without being sinister, and is a good opener for this album. However i appreciated the vocals and guitar work more on 'Losing a whole year'. Other highlights include 'Wounded' which is not unlike 'god of wine' in tempo but just doesnt quite hit the same mark. 'Never let you go' is a radio friendly song with poppy hooks and a great one to sing along to. 1000 Julys is the only song that truly rocks (apart from the shouting at the end of red summer sun) and Camoflauge is possibly the albums best and weirdest song as the vocals sound echoy and distant yet make more of an impact than some of the earlier songs. The rest of the songs are solid ballads and shouldnt be dismissed, especially Darwin which showcases some of Third eye blinds vast instrumental talent.
In conclusion if you want an album that is like the first one then out of the vein will not dissapoint. The songs on these albums are less for driving 80mph down the motorway in the summer and more in the vein of sitting at home reading a book and enjoying in the background.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Most Under-Rated Album of '99
I love this album. It's dark and brilliant. If you're not listening to it because you think Third Eye Blind is too mainstream, give it a try. My favorite tracks are "Anything,"Deep Inside of You," and "1000 Julys." I think the songs wrap up a lot of energy, anger, and sadness in a rock beat that you can dance to, with lyrics you can sing along with...A great album if you've had a bad day and you want to get it all out.
