- Strong follow-up to Kansas Album
A friend of mine recommended both of Jennifer Knapp's albums to me. This album is an excellent follow-up to Kansas. Overall her sound has matured and now covers a wider range than the material from her debut album. Overall, the songs fit together well and form the nucleus for an enjoyable listen. I would not classify this album as a worship album, but more as just great Christian rock music with an acoustic flair.

Jennifer is writing songs that are as good, if not better, than any female secular artist today. Songs like "A Little More", "All Consuming Fire", and "Into You" match the best current material in the secular market in terms of musical talent and lyrical power. Besides the update songs already listed, most of the slower songs on this album like "Usher me Down" and "When Nothing Satisfies" are excellent as well.

I highly recommend this album for anyone looking for a good Christian rock album by one of today's best female talents. If you have some friends who are afraid to listen to Christian music (or if you fall into this category yourself), listen to this CD. It just may change your mind about modern Christian music, and what it has to offer. I think you will be glad with this choice.

- An excellent effort for Jennifer!
Jennifer Knapp is definitely one of the most talented female acoustic artists today. Her songs sound so nice, her vocals are so pleasing, and the arrangement compliments the voice rather than taking away from it. I just can't get enough of Jennifer... too bad this CD is so short! That is my only complaint - not enough of Jennifer's beautiful voice and great writing!! I would DEFINITELY recommend you add this album to your collection, it is a great purchase. You will remember these songs for years to come. This is one of those albums that you'll play a long time from now, and it will still sound great. Personal faves - Usher Me Down, All Consuming Fire, and Peace. One of my favorite CD's, a must-buy for Christian and acoustic music enthusiasts!!

- Definitely a five star album.
I grew up listening to secular music. I seen this cd on sale for 10 bucks, and thought what the heck. Wow, was I ever surprised. This is probably my most played cd. Jennifer is extremely gifted with a beautiful, and awesome voice. All songs on this disk are great and rythmic. Very catchy tunes. I like it. This one is definitely a winner!!

- Not as good as Kansas - but no complaints
Jennifer Knapp is the best artist in the ever-improving world of Christian rock. The first time I heard her, I said to myself that she is more talented than 99% of popular artists out there today. Unfortunately, "Lay it Down" doesn't quite live up to "Kansas"---but what could? If you are deciding between the two--start with "Kansas" but eventually get to "Lay it Down"

- Have to listen
This was my first Jennifer Knapp CD, and I was a little surprised at her sound... being a little "folksy". This is not a CD you can just play for background music, you must listen to the words which are provocative. It is not one that draws me into worship necessarily, it's not one I would exercise with, (as I can with Jacqui Valazquez) but one that I sit back and listen to with a cup of coffee.
