Eve 6 has got to be one of the rock bands today, although I can't say i am a fan that has been listening to them since the beginning. The first i ever heard of eve 6 was think twice, it immediatly became my favourite song, unable to get it out of my head i downloaded their cd horrorscope, within an hour i had a new favourite cd, every single song with the exception of sunset strip bitch is amazingly cathy! The best song on this city is definatly "promise" with "here's to the night" and "anytime" coming in close in second, This band is truly talented and this cd would have to be their all time best. By this album!!!

I can't find a category to put these guys in. They certainly aren't metal, or grundge, or power-punk, or rap, so I have to put them in the pop-rock category. Every one of their songs is rock, yet they always manage to find a riff or a chorus that you just can't seem to get out of your head. I find myself walking around singing songs from this disk, years after it was released and I always seem to find it in my car or the recently played stack in my home system. Even though the lyrics usually revolve around teenage angst or relationships, I always find them quite clever and somtimes even funny. The music is usually aggressive - yet melodic at the same time. My personal favorites are: On The Roof Again, Amphetamines, Promise and Rescue Me. But, I enjoy every song on the disk. Generally speaking, I'm a rocker, I'm in my mid 40s and I love this disk. My ex-wife is basically a pop music fan and when I got the disk in the divorce, she had to go out and rebuy it because she loved it so much. And my 10 year old daughter also likes the disk. This disk has a lot for everybody. Just one bit of advice...there are a lot of lyrics and they can sometimes be hard to keep up with. Get the lyrics in front of you, sit back and read along with them...it greatly added to my enjoyment of the songs. But, all in all, pop music has hit an all-time high!

I bought this cd used at a local record store a couple of years ago. I had the self titled album already and liked it alot so I figured that the "new" album was worth my tip money from work. Believe me it was! Eve 6 has a presence to it that no other alternative band has been able to tackle as well. They have a very strong intelligent smart-ass comment about them that make them stand out from anyone else. The lyrics are fresh and witty; none of that "my daddy didn't love me and my mommy didn't hug me" crap that plagues alot of music. Instead there is a fresh new approach on this cd. The artistic ablity Eve 6 has with their music is worth the deniro alone. My favorite example is in the song "on the roof again" where the bridge breaks down into a fast paced tounge twister of, "you're heinous highness broke her hymen, hey man try and quit your cryin' I know she broke your heart but try to come down." I know that doesn't read as well as it sounds, but trust me. The only thing I can think of that should prevent anyone from buying this album is if you were expecting more songs like "here's to the night". A decent song yes, but it was a departure for the band, although on their new album they do try the ol' ballad formula again, this is all on horrorscope.

Of Eve 6's three albums, this one gets my highest rating as far as music is concerned, and the lowest for lyrics. The songs on this cd are soooo catchy and I think that they did a great job with the experimentation. All the songs have crappy topics, though. I mean, "on the roof again" basically says it's okay that this guy cheated on his girl, with "I know she broke your heart"... and "rescue" about some girl that he messes around with when he sees her. "sunset strip b****" is kind of dumb, too. But every song has a great sound to it, stand outs including "nightmare", "enemy", "on the roof again" and "promise". I love all of Eve 6's work, and I definitely recommend this cd... but "It's all in your head" I think is their best effort. I hope that just because RCA dropped them, it doesn't mean they're through. They're one of my favorite bands, and they're awfully talented.

I know you hear this on CD's all the time that people like, but this one is one of the best. It is the best made by Eve6, no doubt. The songs flow together quite nicely, and having track number 5, "Here's to the Night" in the mix, it takes the cake. I think the entire CD revovles around track 5, my personal favorite. Everyone has had one of those nights of which they remember for forever, but sometimes forget them in all the hussel. Mixing this song in the middle of the hatred venting going on in some of the other songs, "Sunset Strip Bi***", takes you back to the time that you need to remember, to the one time where nothing comes in your way. "Here's to the Night" makes the CD, the other songs compliment it nicely however.
