Deltron 3030

In association with Amazon.com
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Oh snap! 3030 took hip-hop into a new level
Yo, this is where hip-hop should be now in the 2000's. Deltron advanced the game of the art. I didn't know hip-hop could come like this! I mean,Deltron 3030 sounds like it could be an ill soundtrack to some live move that really came out in thearters. 3030 brings you into it's world on a serious tip, this sh#t is far from the hip-pop your going to hear on the radio and videos. The introduction and opening track to this album is like, "Oh sh#t we about to go somewhere, we about to get deep with this one!" And don't even really try to listen the lyrics because it's going to be droppin some sh#t! Plus Del's flow and delivery is sick with it! Automator's beats just, just come with it! And the scraching heard within the songs, makes me want to learn how to rock a turn table my dam self. This is not some 80's, 90's style of rap and don't get me wrong, I love 80's and 90's rap, T La Rock's It's Yours or Main Source's Snake Eye's come on now! But I didn't know rap could do this, could be advanced like this! I don't want to over do it, but this album just caught me off gard. I mean, this album takes you through a vission of the world/future world, drops knowlage and wisdom on you, gives you hip-hop in a form and style package that I never witness before. 3030 just coming at you on some new creative next level stuff. I got and heard Del's other albums, I know about the Hyrogliphics crew, but this Deltron 3030 is just it's own manafestation. Get this LP, you don't want to read about how much this album makes me feel good and exsited about hip-hop when it's done creatively. Games over! I'm stayin 'underground' where that sickness works to be created. Yall can have that hip-pop that's getting aired and played right now as your reading this home boy. Once you get that true sh#t into you, just like I felt when I heard hip-hop back for the first time in the 1980's, you can't feel the bull. Deltron 3030 brings this hip-hop art up!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - (9 out of 10) World Domination 101 via Computer
About a month ago, I was out in Los Angeles at this record shop and saw that this was labeled Out Of Print, and I immediately snatched this up in a heart beat. Well good news, it's not Out Of Print yet, because Amazon is still selling this at regular price, but they did stop producing copies of this album. So if you don't have this album and are sitting and debting on whether or not you sould buy or not, go ahead and buy, because if you wait too long the price is going to jump up.

As for Deltron 3030, this album is the best album that I've heard that devised of teamwork. Kid Koala, Dan The Automator, and Del Tha Funkee Homosapien puts together an album that is sort of based around computers and what not. Del amazes me with the rhymes that he says on albums like creating computer viruses on the song "Virus" and the catchy repeated chorus in the song "Upgrade (A Bymar College Course)" that makes you say "Damn, I've never heard anyone say this before". Also lyrically Del goes is able to expand on his own, something that I haven't heard since the "No Need For Alarm" album, especially on songs like "Positive Contact" and on "Things That You Can Do".

But Del doesn't do it alone. As I said before Dan The Automator and Kid Koala are just as important as Del (they're also responsible for that Kool Keith album when he becomes an eight-sided shape with a PhD). Kid Koala scratches up some dope samples that goes along with the album like on the song "Memory Loss" which is a sample from Del's "Catch A Bad One" from his "No Need For Alarm Album", perfect. Dan does the production which is also fabolous, because it goes along with the concept of the album. There are some few guest appearances on here such as Mr. Lif, MC Paul Barman who busts a weird rap on one of the interludes, and more.

This album takes you onto a whole another deminsion to the hip hop era. Somehow when listening to this album, I have sort of a feeling like it is the year 3030 with the concept that is played through out this album. I believe that this album was very well put together and well thought out. Del is at the top of his game on this one (I don't see how he had enough energy to put out this and another album the same year), and with the guidance of Kid Koala and Dan The Automator, helps make a classic album. As I said earlier in my review, if you're sitting around and waiting on if you should buy this album, I recommend that you buy this album now, becasue they have stop making copies and there are not that many copies left. Explore a new concept!

Production: A+

Overall: A

The tracks are all worth hearing, so I won't point out my favorite tracks.

Chandler (The Infamous), and I'm ghost! Peace y'all!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - IT'S 3030!! Don't Sleep on this album!
The unparalled production and captivating lyrics of Deltron 3030 is nothing I've ever heard before. Del, Dan the Automator, and Kid Koala come together to make art out of music, something that unfortunately many of today's so-called "hip hop artists" lack.

If you want to take a break from your "h-s in different area codes", I encourage to check this timeless album out!

Definitely check out "Time Keeps Slipping." It's one of my favorite tracks in the entire album. I know the lyrics to the entire song because Del's flow is so catchy. Enjoy!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Perfection!
A concept album, futuristic hip hop, tight lyrical delivery, beats by one of the best in the biz, this album is perfection. Del never dissapoints, he is one of the most intelligent and positive emcees in the game and remains underground and true though he could be mainstream if he wanted to(he's that dope and versatile). His flow is one of the tightest and complex ever and none can match him. Dan the Automator runs the turntables along with Kid Koala, and they crafted classic yet futuristic and atmospheric and ambient beats that rival those past, present and future. Based in the distant pot appocalyptic future, Deltron 3030 is a story about an ex-mech soldier who grew wise to the government's corrupt ways(holding the people down and destroying relics of past freedom, music and funk) and formed the resistance against them in the year 3030 in a pursuit to restore funk and music to the peoples of the future. The album follows Del and his partner Automator on a journey through their lives in the resistance, escaping authorities through the gritty, run down futuristic streets of the city, roaming the appocalyptic wastelands and galaxies and planets in search of relics of the past and freedom from the corrupt government. They participate in the Fantabulous Rap extravaganza(a fierce intergalactic emcee battle), create viruses to bring down the world's computer dependant societies as well as spread messages of thinking for yourself and being wise to whats going on. An amazing album that I still listen to over and over and over. The lyrics are witty and chock full of sci-fi references and video game throwbacks and Del's lyrical delivery makes this album a MUST have. One of the best concept albums of all time and the best futuristic hip hop album ever made(rivaling anything by Kool Keith, Cannibal Ox, El-P, anyone!), and arguably one of the top 5 hip hop albums of our generation. If you haven't heard of Del or Dan the Automator or Kid Koala, they are reinventors of the game and you need to check out Deltron 3030!!! PERFECTION! Infectous rhymes and choruses, there is no flaw in this album. Virus, Breymor Collage, Time keeps on slippin, Turbulence, Positive Contact, Mastermind, Madness, Battlesong, Love story, Memory Loss, Things you can do and 3030 are all amazing tracks that deliver time and time again. Wait, thats every song on the album!!! The rest of the tracks can be classified as segues, Cleofis Randalf the Patriarc is a little ditty with lyrics and it is really tight. GET THIS NOW!!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Quite Possibly the best Hip-Hop album EVER!
Words cannot describe the feelings you get when listening to this. True, pure hip-hop with otherworldly beats from Automator, flows from Del never sounded so good. Nothing can touch this. It never gets old.
