Blind Faith

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - In my top 10 of my favorite albums
Being a clapton and winwood fan already when this album was released what can I say.Throw in ginger on the drums and Rick Grech on bass and you have at the time what they called the first rock supergroup. Just guys from other bands forming a new band to me. The whole album is superb. (Do what you like) on the second side was a little long but it got to showcase gingers druming to the max. I still play the cd often. What made me come back and reveiw this music on this day is the release of the live ClaptonWinwood dvd Live from Madison Square Garden. They cover " Had To Cry Today" "Can'tFind My Way Home" "Well All Right" "Presence Of The Lord" But no sea of joy.Watching that concert and seeing the Blind Faith songs played again just brought me back to 1970 when this thing was released. This album really blew my head off and still does today.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Im not much of a Clapton fan
More of a Hendrix/Page kind of guy. But in my opinion this the best album EC has created. Pretty much the only songs not totally worn out and the only ones I turn up when they come on the radio!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It definitely works for me!
My 'Bible' for rock music is the 1983 Rolling Stone Record Guide. But there are times when the critics really miss the boat, and their scathing attack on this album is one of those instances. It seems to me that many critics hold it against Blind Faith that they were created to be a supergroup, and therefore feel obliged to cut them down to size. Reality is, however, that this was indeed a supergroup. How could it not be - including Clapton, Baker, Winwood and Grech? Steve Winwood was in his prime on this album, and no-one can argue that his was one of the most unique and beautiful voices ever in the genre of rock (just try him on 'Traffic' & 'Mr Fantasy' by Traffic - oohwee!). Then there is Grech - ex Family, which is one of the most underrated, unusual, truly artistic and original rock bands in history. Add virtuosos Baker and Clapton and you do indeed have something stratospheric. This must be one of the top 20 rock albums ever, and how well it ages. It definitely works for me. I am glad there was only one because it is great, and a follow-up may have detracted from its greatness.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the First Supergroups
Blind Faith only lasted for one release, but the union of Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood produced memorable classic moments. The opening tune, "Had to Cry Today" is a great rocker which features Steve's soaring vocals against the guitar play of Winwood and Clapton. Ginger Baker's drumming is his usual thumping triplet rolls that became such a staple influence of rock drummers. "Presence of the Lord", "Can't Find My Way Home" are classic rock standards, and Winwood paints a poignant vocal line on both. I am especially fond of the cover of Buddy Holly's "Well Alright", which provides an alternate take from the original. This version is so great, it was the basis of the Santana cover years later. This is a great disk that includes two additional long lost nuggets. Enjoy this cover to cover.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - First Super bandT
The first super band althou that is not realy true,it should be THE CREAM,but with two thirds of Cream, completed with Steve Winwood(Spencer Davies,Traffic)and Rick Grech(Spooky Tooght).Ginger Baker and Eric Clapton are at their best. This is Blues Rock before the term was invented.Even today there are a lot of musicians that count Blind Faith as one of their inspirations.Cranck op the volume and enjoy
