It's my theory that you tell how good of a DVD you have bought by how long it remains in your DVD player. Let me just say, I can't even remember when I put Superman in it has been in there so long. The DVDs begin to dissipate in quality after the first movie in the series. Superman: The Movie is, for lack of a better word, a perfect DVD; which any DVD collector will be proud to have their collection graced by this movie. It is full to the brim with extras, and the quality is beautiful. Of course a DVD of this quality will be shown in widescreen format, and you will be humming John William's magical score in Dolby Digital 5.1. Not to mention the film has a few deleted scenes that add a lot of fun the movie. Now with Superman II, although a top notch film in the series, the glass is only half full, now the film is in widescreen but you will be disappointed to know that it is not in Dolby Digital 5.1, on Dolby Digital 2.0. As far as the features go you'll only get to watch a theatrical trailer. The other two films, Superman III and Superman IV, are identical to the second: only widescreen and a trailer. From a DVD collector's standpoint Superman: The Movie is the gem in this collection. Now as a Superman fan, nobody can call themselves a Superman fan without owning the entire collection. Although the last two films are a little campy.

It is a really good deal! It's the best Superman collection on DVD ever! Take it from me it's great to own all four Superman movies on DVD! Save up your money if you really want this! It's a super deal!

A la hora de comprar The Superman DVD Collection hay que considerar también esto: por más que sea la más mala de la saga, Superman IV: The quest for peace NO INCLUYE SUBTÍTULOS EN ESPAÑOL, las otras tres películas sí lo tienen.

These are the 4 best superhero movies ever created, hands down. The first 2 are the best, however the next 2 are nothing to complain about. The dvd's are fine quality, especially the first one, which is possibly the best dvd out there. It is full of screen tests, and special features on the making of the movie. A truly must have for any Superman fan.

For any Superman fan, this box set is a must. The Superman movies all look awesome on DVD format for the first time. Superman: The Movie is beautifully done, with a full restoration and new, restored sound effects. The film has never looked so good. There are also three very informative documentaries about the film, plus lots of other goodies. Superman II, III, and IV are not nearly as packed with extras, though. In fact, they have none except for the original theatrical trailer. But I must say the DVD versions of these films look so much better than any old VHS version you can find. Plus, they are in widescreen which is the only way anyone should ever watch a film. If you love the Superman movies, this set is for you. If you've never seen them, this is the best way to see them for the first time.
