When Damon Albarn accepted an award for Gorillaz at the European MTV music awards in November, he argued against the conduct of the war on terrorism, saying that it's wrong to bomb a poor country. I don't think a government absolves itself of responsibility for supporting terrorism by running its economy into the ground. That's especially true if ruining their economy involves making it illegal for women to work.

Damon Albarn first tried to break into the American market about ten years ago. He was unsuccessful then (despite being accompanied by one of the best guitar players ever to walk the planet), in part because he alienated the American media and Americans by making it clear that he does not like America. I recall that he expressed special disdain for grunge in general and Nirvana in particular-two more reasons why America found it easy to ignore him--and then he wondered why Americans didn't find anything they could relate to in his quaint songs about men chasing women around offices of quasi-autonomous non-governmental organizations.

Now that Gorillaz are catching on in America and money from American kids is making its way into his bank account, he's doing a good job of not talking about his distaste for America. I suspect he hopes that the primary audience for Gorillaz will be too young to know and that the rest of us won't remember, so he saves his America bashing for the European audience.

i love this cd because the gorillaz are my favorite band and my parents dont get mad when they listen to it.

First off I'd like to say that this cd is for anyone who likes music. It's a mixture of punk/rap/alternative/blues/latin all rapped into one PHAT!! cd. (Try putting the cd into a loud speaker and turning the bass all the way up!)

Im only 11 so im kind of picky with music but this cd is tight. I Think Clint Eastwood is the best song in the world. Ths cd is Pop/Tecno/Rap/Dance/Latin/rock/blues so any body can buy this. I give this a 5 out of 5.
