To call myself a fan from the start would be a lie, but I wish I could. I hadn't heard of the band until I heard them play "Save Me" on Smallville and then perform live "Perfect Memory" on the season finale. I rushed out to buy the albums and I was deeply impressed! I was not expecting much from music anymore (the majority of it is rap and hip-hop) and whatever rock was available was just another boy band that had a few extra million dollars to start a band with. Personally, I love "Glorious Number 1" and "Over the Rails and Hollywood High" but this CD is for rock lovers, pop lovers, or people who just finally need to hear something new. Before you give up, give in to RemyZero. In no time they were my favorite and I listen to the CD nearly every day. The music has almost no category and the only was to describe it is to call it RemyZero. Call it Rock, pop, RemyZero or whatever but each name will deliver the same high-caliber music.

I happened to stumble across Remy Zero live a few years ago and they have been my favorite band since Led Zeppelin. I was mesmerized by Cinjun's voice during the show and rushed out to buy Villa Elaine (2nd cd)the next day. I fell in love with Villa Elaine so I knew once Golden Hum came out I had to have it. Now I love both cds equally. Remy Zero has a very unique sound which is very rich, textured, and layered which captures the mind, heart, and soul. This music is powerful and passionate, much better than the crap played all over the radio. Cinjun's voice is capitivating and will keep you yearning for more. I think this band has not gotten the recognition it deserves and I really think they are better than Radiohead who they are often compared to. Buy it an enjoy!

If you're looking to be inspired, captivated, mesmerized, and just plain impressed, slip 'The Golden Hum' into your CD player. With tracks like "Glorious #1", "Belong", and "In/Out", you will never be at a loss for something magnificent. I've had this CD since it was first released and I have never once been tired of it. This is one band that I would recommend to everyone and anyone with full confidence, because in actuality, they sell themselves. They have never been a band to give in to mainstream just because it's what's popular at the moment- they've always held true to their roots and their true fans and continue to produce original, thought-provoking tunes. If it's one CD you get this season, make it the Golden Hum.

Like many others, I was inspired to buy this album because of Smallville, and it was more than worth it! How many times can you say you bought a CD for one song and ended up liking every one of them?! I'm not kidding. Every song is amazing and magical in its own way.
The heart-breaking ballods like "Perfect Memory", "I'm Not Afraid", and "Belong" appeal to the sensitive side, giving you those bittersweet pangs of love in your chest. The pounding rock songs like "Save Me", "Over the Rails", and "Glorious #1" are throbbing with danger and sexuality, both inspiring and a little terrifying at the same time. And Cinjun's powerful voice adjusts to all of it. The melodies are constantly taking unexpected twists and startling ups and downs, which is very refreshing with all the predictable things you hear on the radio these days. The instrumentation is clear and obviously well planned unlike some of the "sloppy rock" that seems to be catching on.
The Golden Hum is a work of art. Each song tells its own story, bare and truthful, while still maintaining the craft of excellent song-writing. If you're not a fan of Remy Zero, this album will do it!

Seldom does a band come along with such creativity and music mojo like the boys from Remy Zero. The Alabama band received critical acclaim for their previous album entitled "Villa Elaine" and this time the band picks up where they left off.
Songs like "bitter" and "belong" show that these guys haven't lost their touch for moody melodies and rockers like "Glorious #1" and "Save Me" prove that these guys are here to stay for a long time.
