I came across an mp3 of Instead Laugh one day and loved it.I got this album shortly after and loved it. Its got a mellow rock sound that is a lot different from other stuff I've listened to. The songwriting in this album is AWESOME, both lyrically and musically.

OneSideZero. Wow, I don't even remember how I heard of the band. It was probably awhile back on Internet radio but I'm glad I did hear of them. I wouldn't call this a groundbreaking album but it does have some good tracks to offer. My favorites would have to be "instead laugh", "shed the skin", "soak", and "underground". Here's what I think of everything else...
1. Instead Laugh - 10/10
2. Holding Cell - 9.5/10
3. New World Order - 9/10
4. A Point In Time - 9.5/10
5. Tapwater - 9.5/10
6. Shed The Skin - 10/10
7. Awake - 6/10
8. The Day We Lied - 9/10
9. Soak - 10/10
10. Eight - 8.5/10
11. Never Ending - 6/10
12. Underground - 10/10
Overall: 89% B+
No, OneSideZero isn't groundbreaking or very unique but that's not to say that this isn't a good album. If you enjoy bands like Mad at Gravity, Epidemic, A Perfect Circle, or 10 Years you will probably end up liking a few tracks on this. It's pretty good for such an unknown artist.

I've had this CD for years now, and it seems that I like it more every time I listen to it. This is arguably the best album in my collection. Often times employing three guitars, these songs can get really textured and melodic, but without being overbearing or bogged down. Stand out tracks are 'Instead Laugh,' 'New World Order,' and 'Shed The Skin,' but I'm personally drawn to 'The Day We Lied' (go figure, an acoustic doesn't have to be limited to strumming), 'Eight' (gradual dynamic changes rather than jumping from light to heavy, a nice change of flavor) and 'Underground' which has an over-the-top epic and tragic feel to it, making it a great choice for an album closer.
Side note - Onesidezero split from their label because they weren't given creative freedom when they began writing a sophomore release, and some members dabbled in side projects including Abloom. Onesidezero is now back together (minus Brett Kane?) and recording a new album as an independent band (although they've opted to keep the moniker onesidezero).

I recieved a demo of these guys back in the day, and was really impressed. When I saw that they had a full length coming out I immediatly bought it. As I made my way through the CD I was very impressed with the energy and emotion they put into their songs. For the most part I consider myself a "metal head" but this band can write good music that anyone should be able to appreciate. Truly a beautiful album. Worth every penny.

I got this c.d. from my friend after he comitted suicide. (His mom gave it to me actually.) That's ironic, because the first word on the first track is "suicide." Anyways, that was the first time i heard of them and since then i've been listening to that c.d. quite often, not only because it reminds me of him but because the band itself is great. The lead singer's voice is amazing. When i first heard them they reminded me of Chevelle, but they quickly developed their own sound. My favorite tracks are 1,2,6,9,11, and 12. Don't get me wrong, the other half of the c.d. is great too. I recommend it to any one who likes alternative rock.
