Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - very solid release
a friend of mine gave me a copy of a few of these songs back a couple of years ago. I was kinda familiar with Caught in the Sun and thought it was a pretty cool song. The power of the disc alone hinges on one stand-out track on this album though, and that song to me is 1000 Times. I love this song and think it's one of the best melodic rock songs I've heard in a long time. I've listened to about 7 or 8 cuts off the album and think the whole thing is solid though. I really don't ever think this is one of those bands i'll be saying "changed my life" 10 or 20 years from now, but hey, they are good. They showed great talent and promise. Shame they had to break up, but sometimes even good things come to an end. Anyway, in conclusion, this disc is what? 50-60 cents plus a couple of bucks shipping? You could blow more money than that at Taco Bell. Take a chance on these guys, I promise you wont regret it. It is a solid album and worthy of what you pay for.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - It was alright...
I have to admit, I do really like a few songs off this cd. Course Of Nature is another one of those good unknown bands that probably should have sold more records if they would have been marketed better. Still, I've seen quite a lot of good reviews for this cd and I wouldn't say they were as good as what people have been saying. The album was alright but at times wasn't really anything special. I didn't hate any of the songs at all. The ones I didn't like were because they didn't really sound anything special to me. My favorite tracks from the album are "Wall Of Shame", "Someone Else To You", "Remain", and "1000 Times". Here are the ratings...

1. Wall Of Shame - 10/10
2. Caught In The Sun - 7.5/10
3. Difference Of Opinion - 8/10
4. Someone Else To You - 9.5/10
5. Remain - 10/10
6. Gain - 9/10
7. 1000 Times - 9.5/10
8. Could I've Been - 8.5/10
9. Better Part Of Me - 6/10
10. After The Fall - 8.5/10

Overall: 86% B

If you enjoyed "Wall Of Shame" and find this album for cheap somewhere you should consider checking it out. It's an okay release by an unknown band.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Short, but sweet.
Short CD, but one of the best in 2002 in my opinion.

Course of Nature were in process of recording and I know they were getting help by Raine (lead singer) of Our Lady Peace. But as far as I am concenerned, I checked their site at least once a week. One week it was there, a few days later it was some damn hosting company. Since Mark married Melissa Joan Hart (Sabrina the T.A. Witch) is pretty much when they broke up...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - GREAT ALBUM
This album sparked my interesest in the band about 2 years ago and when i went to look up the band to see if they were gonna do some new stuff i had found out that from what i read the drummer is gone and they are struggling in the recording and that there might not be another album... :(

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A Very Good Debut... a Great CD
I first heard about Course of Nature when a friend of mine recommended Wall of Shame. I then acquired their debut album Superkala in 2002. Three or four years later, it's still one of my favorite cds. The songs range from rough hard dock (Wall of Shame) to soft, violin accompanied ballads (Caught in the Sun) to the jazzy After the Fall.

Caught of Nature is:

Mark Wilkerson -- Lead vocals, rhythm guitar.

Fish -- Lead guitar, bass.

Ricky Shelton -- Drums, backup vocals.

The album features ten solid rock songs, but there are some standouts. Caught in the Sun is a magnificient track, Difference of Opinion, Someone Else to You, and Better Part of Me are absolutely stellar tracks.

Wilkerson is not an exceptional singer, although he's very good. Fish is an excellent guitarist, and, accompanied with Wilkerson's solid rhythm guitar, produce a great sound. Shelton is a respectable drummer, although the drums are usually drowned out by the guitar. One of the great strengths of this group is the song writing. Songs such as Better Part of Me and Caught in the Sun are beautifully written.

I have one complaint about the album though. With only ten tracks, it comes in at a short (approx.) 46 minutes. Hopefully, if there's a followup album, it will be just as solid of a record but feature a few more tracks. They've had three years, so if they are producing another album, I'm expecting alot out of it.
