I first saw Rubyhorse opening for Lifehouse, and was very impressed by their raw energy, enthusiasm, and original rockality! Definitely get "Rise" if you're into straightforward rock with some dashes of pop, dance, mood, and soaring spirit. The band also has a new album out entitled "Goodbye to All That," which is released under the band's new record label. For now, you can only get the new album at the band's website, http://www.rubyhorse.com - there you can order the new album, old albums, and merchandise, of course. "Goodbye to All That" is a darker journey, much moodier than "Rise," but takes off from where their former album left off. The whole album reminds me of "Live Through This" off "Rise" and has more variations on different tracks. Anyway, check out this band because they're worth the effort!

I accidently ran across this band. I heard a song of their entitled "Warning Bells" (which is not on this cd) and i rather enjoyed it so i purchased the CD 'Rise'. I'm not long winded at all but just let me say This is the best album of 2002 Amazing work, lyrically and musically.

I first heard Rubyhorse at work and decided to go home and check out their music. When I realized no one has anything about them online I drove to the closet store and bought 'Rise'. They have the same type of drive and beat as Oasis or U2 but with their own punch. It's quite an amazing CD and I suggest everyone buys it!

I think my title says it all, this album is sheer genius. It has enough for all types of fans, emo, rock, and the broad "alternative." This band is something you do NOT want to miss, listen to the clips then buy the album and thank me later.

I recently saw Rubyhorse at a festival show and did those boys rock! Not only did they rock but, having met the band afterward, they're a bunch of right good blokes too! Their music? Synths and guitar riffs like everything from the Cure to Oasis to a dreamy New Order, the vocals floating amongst Bono, the Gallagher bros, and more American influences. And a drummer thats just so enthusiastic that you can't help but move to the beat. Sometimes hard rocking like "Happy in the Sunshine", sometimes creamy new wave of "Teenage Distraction", Rubyhorse not only puts on a great live show (see 'em if you can!) but has a killer album that will have you playing it over and over and singing like a pub boy with the Irish flu.
