Greenwheel make an inspired debut with Soma Holiday, the lyrics are well written and meaningful and the music is well performed.
1. Shelter (5/5) - One of my favourites, a good intro which leads into a memorable song.
2. Sustain You (4/5) - The music is very good on this song, but the lyrics (although good) don't seem quite right through the verses, but the chorus is increadible.
3. Breathe (5/5) - Took a while to come around to this one, it's much mellower than the other songs, but good none the less.
4. Louder Than Words (5/5) - It's easy for songs like this one to go wrong, but Greenwheel did a great job. A bit heavier in parts.
5. Strong (4/5) - Good lyrics, but the music is somewhat predictable in this track.
6. Drowning Man (5/5) - The music is outstanding and the chorus is one of the best on the album.
7. Faces (5/5) - (I've been the same places, seen the same faces) This is the second best song on the album, deffinately one to remember.
8. Identity (6/5) - My favourite, it's well sung and the chorus will be stuck in your head for a long time.
9. Disappear (3/5) - Not their best, the words are shouted out at you, despite the fact that the music is much quieter and mellower. It doesn't sound that good.
10. Dim Halo (5/5) - The last really good song on the album, the begining sounds quite heavy, but it quickly becomes a quiter song, and the music is really outstanding.
11. Radiance (2/5) - Overall, an average song and the well-written lyrics aren't enough to save it from being dull.
12. The End (3/5) - A good closing track, but a little slow for me to really enjoy. But anyone who likes really laid-back ballads will still enjoy this.

As that one review said, it's hard to be different because almost everything has been done. What separates Greenwheel is that they are good. The singer can sing and the rest of the band knows how to play their instruments, and they songs they write are way better the most mainstream radio.
By the way, if there's anyone confused about the song "Breathe": Greenwheel wrote it, not Melissa Etheridge.

Greenwheel explodes onto the music scene with their debut album 'Soma Holiday'. After hearing them on the Spider-Man soundtrack I was interested to see what they could bring to the table and when I found the album I picked it up. The first couple of listens didn't really intrigue me all that much but I continued on listening and listening, somewhere around 10 listens I found that I was in love with this album. Two weeks later I had the opportunity to see them live with Blindside and Hoobastank (both worth checking out), their live show is as awesome as this album. Pick up this album, kick back, and enjoy!!

this band rocks I couldn't and still can't believe how blown away i was when I first listened to this cd EVERY song is listenable on this cd, and the most popular single "Breathe" isnt the best song on the entire cd. This is everything you need to look for when buying a cd, i would of paid a lot more then i did to buy this cd just because it is so good. The vocals are so in tune with the music , it's crazy. Its good to hear a CD with quality like this one since their is so many other "rock" bands out there that just dont have it. Also, check out JULY FOR KINGS as they are a band similar to greenwheel. Here is my opinion of the best tracks on cd in order
1. The End (slower song, filled with passion) 2. Sustain you (up beat rock song, cool guitar part) 3. Dissappear 4. Identity (would make a great intro song for the band live) 5. Dim halo 6. Strong (...as heard on the game NHL 2003) 7. Drowning man 8. Faces (sweetness guitar part at the end of the song) 9. Radiance 10. breathe(good choice of a single) 11. Shelter (...as heard on spiderman soundtrack) 12. Louder then words
