This is a good album, with a couple which are everybody's favs, a few quality but lesser-known tracks, and some decent filler.
This is labelled the Talon Mix, so you can probably expect some more Smallville albums to come.
Like a lot of Smallville fans, I'm sure, I often find myself thinking what an excellent soundtrack the show pulls together every week. I think that left me a little disappointed when about half the songs on the album just didn't evoke for me the way the do in the show. It's still good, but just not all as good as they seemed in the show. Let's have that first season DVD and get the whole package!

I can't believed they left out two songs:
One: Sparkle by Ruby Horse ; the one with the line "how you sparkle, how you shine , how you rise above the sky"
Two: I don't know the name, I think its called " Real World" its a bit jazzy, when Clark is asking Chloe to the dance in his barn.
Also, leaving out "The Calling" was a pity.

The song 'Save Me' is so great that when my mother came in on the other night's episode she said she liked it, and began to tap her foot. Of course she is a U2 fan, so it's not a big suprise. I especially like the four-minute version of this song.

I must say that Smallville has got to be one of my favourite shows at the moment. When I heard that they were releasing a CD soundtrack, I was quick to preorder this title.
In terms of the songs, this is a great compilation where most of the tracks have been played on the most recent episodes to air. Of course the CD includes the theme song "Save Me" by Remy Zero which - as a sidenote - causes my nephew to run into the room every time he hears the chorus as he knows he's likely to see Clark on the TV screen.
As with other soundtracks out at the moment - like Roswell - this CD is enhanced with special features that are (supposed to be) assessible from the computer and internet. To be clear, you will need the CD (your key) to be able to download the components allowing you to access the special features like the 3-D interactive map of the town, access to the first smallville comic and preview chapters to upcoming Smallville novels.
Unfortunately, I haven't been able to access these special features as I'm having trouble installing the CD key components. (The troubleshooting link wasn't much help.) But if you just like the songs or are a fan of the show then this is a great addition to your CD collection!

For any fan of the show, or those interested in hearing both popular top-40 music, or those that want to listen to some music that they haven't before, this is the album. "The Talon Mix" was shamelessly plugged on the show, but, still, it is an album worth buying. Maybe make this album a part of your regular Tuesday schedule to get you ready for Smallville. Worth the money, and I don't usually say that about many CDs.
