This a great present for people who love movies and music. Everytime I hear his songs, I can picture the movies the songs were in. It is just a really nice album that can bring back a lot of memories.

I understand some might complain about the fact that John Williams is not the conductor for the 4-disc set, and that the conductors, Mario Klemens, Nic Raine, Paul Bateman, interpreted the music differently. However, I think it is an amazing tribute to one of the world's greatest composers. I love the music John Williams has composed in the last half-century and this set captures the beauty and power of his music. Being one who loves music, I couldn't pass this oppurtunity up. I highly recommend this CD set for anyone interested in listening to awe-inspiring music.

I would just like to comment on using correct titles. I am shocked that you cannot get the first Harry Potter book correct. It is "Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone" not philosopher's or what ever you had up there. Please correct it and give John Williams the credit he deserves, he spelled it correctly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very disapointed that someone as great as John is, you would put something like that up. It's our world of incompetence and its pathetic state.

These CDs are okay, but don't have the spirit of the original peices of music written by John Williams, and it's like the orchestra was handed the music, and they didn't look at the emotional part of the peice. But over all, it contains the best of the best, worth the price.

- A representative overview
The 4 CD's are a good representation of the film music of John Williams. From a few films more than one piece of music is put on the CD. However, recordings of the same pieces with John Williams and the Boston Pops produce a sound that comes much closer to the actual soundtrack of the film.
