DVD : Smallville - The Complete Third Season

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Save me
For those who say there is nothing good on TV, I suggest they watch this show. Starting in the fall 2001, this show has lasted to an upcoming 7th season, one of the longest lasting shows in a decade of reality TV. This third season consists of 18 episodes, most of which are part of multiple-episode arcs. These arcs consist the following.

1. The sparring between Lex and Lionel becomes lethal that ends with the latter going to jail and the former being poisoned.

2. The relationship between Clark and Lana ends as Lana gets admitted to a Parisian art school and leaves in the final episode.

3. Clark's relationship with Pete goes through highs and lows and finally ends as Pete moves to Wichita with his mother.

4. Lex grows more involved with research on meteor-infected humans and allows his curiousity to cloud his moral judgement.

5. Clark accepts his fate and the mentorship of Jor-El and is taken by him in the final episode.

Thrown into these 3 central themes are several stand-alone episodes that progress the training of Superman. My favorite one was when Clark meets a meteor-infected guy who can see how people die. When he touches Clark, he sees Superman flying through space and sky in his trademark cape of red and blue. Surprised, he tells Clark that he sees no end to his life. Other key events include Clark picking up super-hearing, his realization that both Lex and Lionel are separately but entirely obsessed with him, and the revelation that one of them will become his mortal enemy. All in all, a very important season. The lives of all the major characters are affected, and key relationships are changed. Of all the seasons, this one is probably the most important towards the myth and background of Superman.

Great show.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Can get tiresome
I just finished watching the fist 2 disks of season 3. The Lana/Clark relationship is annoying! All they do is appologize to each other, or look at each other with longing or blowing each other off. That is sickening. Either get together already or just stop this whole love routine for good! I can't wait for Louise Lain to come on the show. Lana Lang is boring and pointless. Clark Kent lacks the dynamic of the Superman. I hope the show improves with the next season.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Revealing
Season three is almost entirely dedicated to backstory for almost every series regular. You learn something about everyone and that makes this season a must have if you have seen the first two. Clark learns a lot about himself and the season ends with a great cliffhanger and can't wait to see what happens. There are also a lot of special features for this DVD, such as the conclusion to the Chloe Chronicles story that was on the season two DVD. Overall, this is a must have!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Love this series.
I have all five seasons thats out and cant wait till season six comes out next month. I already have mine pre-ordered. All I can say is watch it! You have to be just a little in love with comic book type movies like Spiderman, Xmen and Fantastic 4. Im not saying you have to be a die hard fan of comics or Superman but you gotta at least like this kinda genre. There are some episodes that will make you go "Wow thats just crap." Because they are kinda slow and not really telling you anything or progressing in the story line. You have to bite your lip through those episodes which are few and far between. Season 1 and season 5 I think are the two best. Seasons 2-4 are good but there really just filler I think. Season 1 has some of the cool abilities come to life and also lets you get to know everyone in Smallville. Season 2-4 gets you more and I believe all of his abilities out in the open. (could be wrong on that) New Good Guys and Villains galore! Now Season 5 heats up and has some really good last few episodes that will have you kicking the tv for more! I threw my remote across the room because of how that season ends. All I can say is Cliff Hanger!!!!!! All in all Im bias because I just really fell in love with this TV Series. Im a huge comic fan so like I said Im kinda bias. Worth it? HECK FREAKING YES AND THEN SOME WITH EXTRA EXTRA SOME!!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Smallville - The Complete Third Season
Another exciting year about the growing Superman. Clark , step by step, becomes Lex enemy, especially in the last Episode ( 3.22 Covenant ).
Just like in Season 2, here are a lot of events happening, all worthy to see for a fan.
Although i give 4 stars out of 5 because the everlasting Clark-Lana relationship is getting bored and because the main plot about Clark and his destiny, until the last 5 episodes, is moving a little too slow in Season 3 .
