I have purchased each season now and I would have to say season 3 is almost the best. I just wish they would stop focusing on Clark and Lana as a love interest. If you dont have season 3 in your collection yet, definitly buy it.

This is the season that made me a Smallville addict, so many story lines, I could never get tired of watching this.

This series and Amazon both rock! When I received the series by mail, it had a single disc that was messed up. I emailed amazon and by the next day, I had a replacement in my mailbox. I highly suggest that if you're a fan of this show, buy ALL the boxsets from Amazon...better service and better pricing.

I missed a lot of this season when it was originally on television-- thank goodness for the miracle of DVD. Watching the entire season all the way through at least manages to provide for an honest viewing experience and a decent mode of comparison.

Overall, it is still Smallville, the freaky little Kansas town we all know and love. The third season starts out with a great bang, a dizzingly heartbreaking first two episodes picking up three months after Season 2 ends. It's intense, it's bad-boy, and heck, it fits perfectly in the Superman worldview. Also set are a few events that will reach seasons into the future in some well-written and expandable plots. There is an occasional tint of darkness along with a smidge of camp. I give it a nod and a smile--it's all enjoyable! Darkness is taken well, as well is the witty humor touched with those subtle Superman foreshadowings.

As there many notable benefits to this season there were also some flaws that left me thinking that some things could have been done better. A fascinating plot twist is drudged from an episode boring itself deep into the realm of cheesy. Emotion is attempted--and needed--for several storylines, but for whatever reason do not break through nearly as fully as they are needed. It's disappointing and does not come together with quite the impact I would have liked for my catharsis.

However, in general, these are few, and other great blasts attempt to make up for them. It's Smallville, some things simply must be accepted.
