Batman: TAS has got to be my favorite cartoon...ever! The animation is great (some episodes better than others), the stories are amazing, the character development is on-point, and the voices for these characters are perfect. All three volumes are worth buying and adding to your DVD collection, but volume three is probably my favorite. "The Demon's Quest" part one and two introduces one of Batman's greatest (and most dangerous) villains in his rogues gallery, Ra's Al Ghul. "Sideshow" takes Batman out of Gotham City and into the wilderness in hunt for Killer Croc (reminescent of the "Swamp Things" story arc from the comics). One of the only villains to ever really defeat Batman in the comics is introduced into the series in "Bane", as well an Animated Series original villain who received so much praise for his appearance in the episode "Lock-Up" that he ended up in the comics. The Harley Quinn episodes "Harlequinade" and "Harley's Holiday" are both classics, as well as "Trail", "Read My Lips", and "Batgirl Returns". If you are a fan of Batman, quality animation, or comic books in general, then you'll most definitely want to own volume three (and one and two if you don't already)!

I ordered Super Friends Volume 2 and Batman - The Animated Series, Volume 3. I got the limited edition cel in Super Friends Volume 2 but I didn't get the limited edition cel in Batman - The Animated Series, Volume 3. I saw the advertisement in Entertainment Weekly and it said that there is a limited edition cel in both DVD's. I feel ripped off, if I bought it in a retail store and it didn't have the sticker saying that it has the sticker with limited edition cel, I would of never purchased it. It didn't even have the decoder. This is false advertisement. If anyone else has this problem or know if I can still get the limited edition cel, please let me know.

Don't panic this set does have 29 episodes.19 episodes are from BATMAN THE ANIMATED SERIES.The other 10 are THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN AND ROBIN.These are episodes 17,19,20,23-29.These 10 have a different theme song and title sequence. However there's no need for concern. The same high quality animation, stories, and voice work is consistent through all 29 episodes. Bonus features include a Batgirl retrospective,2 audio commentaries, 1 video commentary, and trailers which includes a BATMAN BEGINS teaser/trailer. GET THIS AND VOLUMES 1 AND 2 if you don't have them already. See other reviews for more detailed descriptions.I hope this was helpful. As for the customers that didn't get the animation cel. Most stores have a 30 day exchange policy. You can tell them you are dissatisfied with the product. Some will exchange without question. Some won't.Tell them it's missing the cel.

Of course these episodes are great and that's what counts, but compared to a Simpsons set, these Batman TAS DVDs seem a little empty: only 1 short featurette and 3 commentaries. The featurette is -- once again -- about a character of the series (i.e. Batgirl) ; sure, this is interesting, but there is much more to be said about what makes the specificity of the show: the way it is designed, story-boarded and animated ; this set is made for fans and not just for kids, so they could have made it a little more precise about the technical aspect of the series. That would've been great to get some storyboards too (since Bruce Timm himself made some of them). Since there are many great episodes in this set (and also very different ones), more audio commentaries would have been welcome (The Simpsons have 1 commentary per ep). And please, Warner, next time don't put any video commentary! This one was irritating (very badly shot) and the moderator asked questions of which we already knew the answers and made irrelevant remarks: leave the show's runners alone! Hopefully the next Batman, Superman AND Justice League season sets (please Warner, release them fast!) will have more extras and less absurd gadgets.

Volume 3 of WB's Batman: The Animated Series includes the last 29 episodes of the series, and marks its complete release on DVD! From here on out there should be another set that contains the later "New Batman Adventures" episodes, and hopefully sets of Batman Beyond will follow next year if we're lucky (and then Justice League, once Superman completes its DVD release).
This set marks a lot of my personal favourites, including four episodes that feature the immortal Ra's Al Ghul (and one with Jonah Hex, who recently appeared as a younger incarnation in Justice League Unlimited). Bane, who infamously broke Batman's back in the comics also appears, as well as the gangster puppet Scarface. Batgirl debuts, and fans of Robin will find a lot more of him - the last few episodes were made following a request from FOX to feature more of the Boy Wonder, and they include a new intro and ending that haven't been seen in ages. Elsewhere, the saga of Mr. Freeze continues, Riddler tries going straight, the villains take over Arkham and put Batman on trial, and Clock King finds a new way to manipulate time (kudos to the staff for his recent appearance on JLU). It's a lot of excitment for 29 episodes, and the quality remains consistent throughout.
Vol. 2's extras were more plentiful, as this set only includes 3 commentaries and a minor featurette on Batgirl. Still, it could be worse - the single disc releases I've traded in at game stores are proof of that.
