THIS WAS ONE THE SEASONS THAT REALLY HOOKED ME INTO THE ALREADY BEING A LIFELONG BATMAN FAN MYSELF I REALLY GOT GLUED INTO THIS SEASON WHICH HAVE HAD SOME COMICS BASED OFF IT BECUASE OF IT'S ORIGNAL STORYLINES AND STUFF. I LOVE THE EPISODE WITH RA'AL GHUL AND THE BATGIRL INTRO WHICH I THOUGHT WASN'T A NEW TWIST JUST A MORE UP-TO DATE VERISON ON THE TALE OF BATGIRL. ANOTHE GREAT SEASON THOUGH

Of the three seasons of "Batman: The Animated Series" was by far the best of the bunch. Many of these episodes are the ones I'd grown up on (I wasn't introduced to the show until after it was cancelled), and I was delighted to see the episodes I'd never seen.
This was the season that a new main character was introduced: Batgirl, aka Barbara Gordon, daughter of police commissioner James Gordon. Of course, all the old faces return, including Robin, Harvey Bullock, The Penguin, Two-Face and The Joker. Plus, villians like Scarface and the ill fated Maxie Zeus also make brief appearances. Also, Harley Quinn really came into her own this season, stealing the show in many of the best episodes.
Once again, there are great extras. But it's the episodes you really want.

I think this was Batman and Robin's best volume yet. I was cheering as soon as I got this volume. Batman and Robin's final 28 episodes. This volume also introduced some new characters such as Ras Al Ghoul and Batgirl. If you like the first two you will love this one. So don't forget to look for The Adventures of Batman and Robin Volume 3 in stores today!

This is probably the best of all three seasons. Definately don't miss this one if you liked the other two.

Volume Three of "Batman--The Animated Series" completes the original arc of the DC/Warner series, originally aired on Fox (switching to the WB) in the early 1990s. In looking at the animated series, it seems to bridge the 1989 Batman movie and Batman Begins. It also goes far in wiping out the memories of Adam West in the 1960s, the animated Batman cells of that same period, and the SuperFriends' Batman.
Being blunt, this was less cartoon and more animated story telling at it's finest; tales told in about 25 minutes with vocal acting that enhanced the story. Credit has to be paid to Paul Dini and the crew that worked on this show--they never let it revert to the campiness of the '60s series, nor did they redo Tim Burton's work in '89 nor 1992. The Animated Series carved a very distinct niche--it was The Batman drawn less for children and more for adults who had followed the character.
Let's face it--if you have watched The Animated Series, the Batman:Gotham Knights episodes, or the Justice League; we know this--Kevin Conroy's voice fits Batman/Bruce Wayne perfectly. Conroy catches the gravel and danger befitting an emotionally scarred vigilante in such a way that--and it can only be said like this--Conroy's voice is the one voice that IS Batman's. Take nothing away from Mark Hamill's Joker or Adrienne Barbeau's Catwoman, but it is Conroy's voice that drives the series and makes the tone and the art of it work.
Volume Three introduces the Barbara Gordon Batgirl, and also introduces Ra's Al-Ghul to those less familiar with the Rogue's Gallery. Also, Bane is brought in--obviously, not as formidable as he was in the "Knightfall" arc.
All three editions of "BTAS" are quality television; again made more for adult viewing than for children. Highly suggested.
