any one who thinks today's kids won't like or understand looney tunes is just plain looney.
i bought them for my memories but when i introduced them to my grandchildren, they became instant fans. often the first thing they say when they visit is "grandpa can we watch looney tunes." they love them and i love it for them.

I love the looney tunes and these golden collections are really the only way to buy them. The documentaries were interesting too. My only (slight) complaint is the lack of character variety. I really would like some more Foghorn Leghorn. Have all four sets. Recommended.

Wow... another wonderful collection of WB cartoon shorts, including some of my favorites:
"Bowery Bugs"- one of the great Art Davis's best!
"Rebel Rabbit"- a truly twisted McKimson cartoon.
"Hillbilly Hare"- the square dance has me in stitches every time I see it.
"Duck! Rabbit!, Duck!- the funniest of Chuck Jones's hunting trilogy.
"The Honey-Mousers" and "The Mouse that Jack Built"- two dead-on parodies from Bob Mckimson.
"Porky's Party"- Bob Clampett, Porky, lovely b&w- who could ask for more?
"Robin Hood Daffy"- One of Porky's finest appearances (as Friar Tuck)
"Rocket Squad"- a futuristic "Dragnet" spoof with Daffy and Porky.
"Draftee Daffy"- Daffy vs. the draft board guy!
"Birds Anonymous"- one of the best cartoons ever...hysterically funny.
"No Barking"- completely dopey, innocuous and riotous.
There are lots more that I like, but these stand out. Like other folks, there are many I'm still waiting for ("Ali Baba Bunny", "Bushy Hare", "Which is Witch?", "Coal Black and De Sebben Dwarfs"), but hopefully these are forthcoming from WB.
I love the Clampett stuff, and the old b&w cartoons, many of which I've never seen- amazing material- Bob Clampett was seriously deranged, God bless him! Some of these offer an excellent historical look at the evolution of the WB cartoons.
The extras vary wildly, ranging from:
The excellent (the one on Jones's hunting trilogy), to
The poor (once again, Michael Barrier's commentaries leave us breathless with non-excitement!), to
The downright ludicrous (Whoopi's PC garbage)- for example:
"These jokes were wrong then, and they're wrong today..." Sez who? I've noticed WB cartoons make fun of Irish, Slavs, Japanese and Italians, among others, and you don't hear them complaining- perhaps it's because the Irish, Slavs, Japanese and Italians are cool, and have better things to do than whine about how much the world OWES them... but I digress...
The remote will take care of Whoopi, so I didn't deduct a star for her(?) blathering. Bypass this sanctimonious drivel and enjoy some textbook examples of what great animation is. This one is probably the best of the 3 "Golden Collections" I've purchased so far, and I recommend it highly...

I could do without having to see Whoopi Goldberg every time I watch a CD otherwise more great Looney Tunes.

I would like to thank the people at Warner Bros. for releasing these jems of the cartoon world, and I plea to them to speed up the pace and release 2 or 3 collections a year insted of only 1 per year.
Best regards,
