Here is another great collection of Warner Bros. Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies presented in their original forms. None of those mutilated Blue Ribbon re-issues which was the work of A.A.P.(Asssociated Artists Productions),the company that also mutilated many of the Paramount Popeye cartoons made from 1933 to 1957. This collection also contains the very first Warner Bros. cartoon,SINKIN' IN THE BATHTUB starring Bosko(later property of MGM),a Looney Tune released in 1930. That one was of course a black and white cartoon, which was common(color was a rarity back then). Cable TV's Nickelodeon even aired the cartoon back in the 90's. Again, here are all of the Warner Bros. cartoon stars,Bugs Bunny,Porky Pig,Daffy Duck,Elmer Fudd,Sylvester,Tweety,Yosemite Sam,Foghorn Leghorn,Pepe Le Pew,Road Runner,WIle E. Coyote and Speedy Gonzales. There are plenty of no-star cartoons as well.

As a collector of vintage cartoons, I was mildly disappointed with this collection. Oh yes, I am aware of what has been said about the introduction of this collection but one can quicly get into the cartoons. I had hoped for more of the the travails of Bugs and Yosemite Sam, Wiley Coyote and the Road Runner, and other great ones, but I will patiently wait for these to come in the future Volumes.

OK,
Can we all get over being woefully offended by Whoopi Goldberg stating the truth at the beginning of this DVD set. With the overreactions I'm reading, maybe it hit a nerve. Maybe we're a little more bothered by the truth than we'd like to admit.
We all know this set features Warner Bros. cartoons from an earlier era, and, during that time, it was considered acceptable to caricature minorities. Times have changed, and we need to accept that. Whoopi's just stating what we all know, so just skip it if it bothers your viewing that much.
That said, I really enjoyed seeing vintage cartoons such as "Porky's Road Race" again. Looney Tunes really set the standard as far as U.S. cartoons go.
I'm waiting for Golden Collection Volume Four...

Please, release a short called 'It's Hummer Time', about a cat who chases a hummingbird and keeps interrupting a bulldog every time. More importantly, give us more Arthur Davis' and Robert McKimsons' shorts!

I wasn't going to write a review until I started to read the reviews already posted. I can't believe how many people are giving this wonderful collection fewer stars because of an annoying introduction that can easily be skipped by the press of a single button. I personally can't stand W.G. and think the introduction is politically correct hogwash. However, nobody is "forcing" me to watch it. Remember, we're reviewing CARTOONS here! All of you people who feel the need to go into a right-wing tirade and whine about liberals and communists need to get over yourselves and just enjoy the cartoons! That is why we're here, right?
And so with that, I give this collection FIVE stars. I agree there isn't enough Foghorn or Yosemite, but that just gives me more to look forward to. This collection does have some of my all-time favorites, especially An Itch In Time.
So let's all hit "menu" when Whoopie comes up and enjoy the show!
