En Extasis (+3 bonus remixes)

In association with Amazon.com
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great re-release of Thalia's first non-pop album
"En Extasis" (1995) was Thalia's first album with EMI Latin which allowed her to reach a bigger market, unlike her first 3 albums with Fonovisa/Melody that were all-pop/ballad and marketed for a smaller audience.

The highlight of the album is "Piel Morena" which still remains in my opinion one of her finest works vocally and musically. The rest of the album has a very latin and adult contemporary style, and it can sound repetitive after awhile. But there are tracks that stand out like "Amandote" and "Gracias a Dios". The telnovela theme song "Maria La del Barrio" was included as bonus track in a second release of the album in 1996, so it was not really recorded for this album.

This 2005 Edition comes with 3 bonus tracks, two which are rare.
"Piel Morena (Hitmakers Remix)" Remixed by the Brazilian DJ's "Hitmakers", has been previously available on the album "Thalia's Hits Remixed" (2003). This is the full-length version of the Remix that was once only available as a "Radio Edit" version in the album "Por Amor" (1998) ("Amor A La Mexicana" alternate title for the European market).
"Piel Morena (Emilio Mix)" Remixed by Emilio Estefan, can be found as a bonus track in the album "Con Banda: Grandes Exitos" (2001). It has a less-banda and more latin sound than the rest of the album. But it does not really fit in this re-release. But it works for the ones who do not own the banda album, and just want this mix of Piel Morena.
"Piel Morena (Karaoke)" it's the album version with no "lead" vocals, only "background" vocals. Previously available only in the single "Maria La del Barrio" (1996) (US Edition). It is a very cool track if you want to sing along.
In total you get 5 versions of "Piel Morena", the album one, the 3 mixes mentioned, and the "Remix" by Pablo Flores, actually an extended version of the album one.

Out of the 3-4 editions released so far, this is the ultimate edition of "En Extasis" to own.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - En Extasis {Remastered Version}
Thalia was relesed this album on 1995 and she was released remaster version after 10 years later and this version included 3 extra tracks. You can find 5 versions of Piel Morena. If you never buy this album, you should buy this version instead of first version. This is Thalia's 4th album but She said that 'this is my firts real album in my music career'. Also this album included very best hits, likes: Piel Morena, Amandote, Gracias a Dios, Maria La Del Barrio, Juana and Llevame Contigo and more... According to me, don't miss this album.
