Batman and Batman Returns are two of the best Dark Knight films ever, right up there with the new Dark Knight movie.

For anyone who is a fan of the old Batman series this a good collection. It contains bonus materials of all four movies that you cannot get when you purchase each movie individually.

I do not understand why Warner would combine two of the best Batman films (Batman, Batman Returns) with two of the worst (Batman Forever and Batman & Robin). They are completely different. What they should have done was package together a Tim Burton Double Feature Deluxe Edition and left the other two in the vaults locked away where no one can get to them. Joel Schumacher ruined the Batman franchise, but it was also started by the idiotic Warner executives at the time as well as all the angry mothers with nothing better to do than complain that Batman Returns was too dark for their kids. Buy Batman and Batman Returns seperately. Burton got it right the first time with Batman. It was the perfect mix of darkness and comic book/fantasy world. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight don't make me think of Gotham City. They are too realistic and Batman sounds like he is a chain smoker with his overly raspy voice. Burton & Keaton Forever! Jack Nicholson, Danny Devito and Michelle Pfeiffer were all perfect as the villians!

Please do not waste your time buying the Batman Anthology, especially not on Blu-Ray. I'm sure it will only be more horrible in high definition.
The first movie, with Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker, will always have a place in my heart as the first real Batman movie. It was a pretty good one, as well, even though it appears to be a low-budget film.
The other three movies aren't worth watching, whether you've seen them or not. You will be better off spending your time waiting for another Christopher Nolan Batman movie (Director of "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight").
Those two movies have been awesome to watch. I saw the first one at a Drive-In (as an afterthought, no less! They always showed two movies at the Drive-In), and the second at home on my HD TV. Either way blows the older movies out of the water, and these are actually interesting.

I would buy this if I could get it without Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. I just can't support giving Joel Schumaker any money for those endeavors.
