You know, to this day I enjoy Justice League series more and more. It is hands down, my favorite piece of non-written fiction ever!! I grew with the Batman: TAS and a bit of Superman. I was very young when these shows first came out and I was more into epic action scenes. As I grew older and got these shows on DVD, I really started to appreciate them. They just don't make fiction like this anymore. Honestly, has Bruce Timm made ANYTHING bad? I've yet to see anyone with such a success streak in the entertainment industry. Or maybe I just don't get out enough, :-P
To me, Bruce Timm and his cast of writers, directors and voice actors have outdone themselves in the Justice League series. It stays loyal to fans of all their shows, has a lot of wonderful continuity with the villains from the Batman & Superman series. These guys really get the 80/20 rule. Even if you haven't been a fan, it's hard not to love this show. Most of the episodes in season 2 are in two parts, and almost all of them have more of a story than most of the Hollywood movies that come out. Some of my personal favorites are Starcrossed (Obviously!), Hereafter (Lobo.. man, who is the guy that is the voice actor for Lobo? BRILLIANT!! Awesome ending, touching ending, fantastic!!), A Better World & Maid of Honor. I could write an essay on how great this show ended up being. Season 2 was AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm writing this review because I don't think these creators gets enough credit for their work. Apparently, a lot of disgruntled fans didn't like their twist to some things (GL's ring being cut off, Hawk Girl, etc.) whatever.. your loss. I didn't read a single comic book growing up so hey, what do I know? But I know good entertainment. Bruce Timm, you and your team have made something very special and this series will live on for a long time. Thanks so much for all the years of amazing entertainment! I'm a proud owner of ALL your work!

The first season of Justice League was something special in animated super-hero fare and the second season built on this solid foundation. The characters were all further defined and deepened, particularly Hawkgirl as this set the stage to conclude the season with a story line focussed squarely on her. More old favorites from the JL's rogues gallery were trotted out to annoy the heroes including Amazo, Ivo, Despero (about the only "O" baddie not to make it into any season of the series was Starro!) Dr. Destiny, and the Injustice Gang. Great stuff!

okay - so it wasn't really the END end, but I will always count Justice League and Unlimited as two totally different animals, and really, the season two finale was just amazing.
I could go into all the episodes that made this season great, but honestly, if you haven't seen them for yourselves, and are a comics fan, I would be doing you a great disservice by giving anything away.

If you're a DC comics fan, this updated version of Superfriends does not disappoint. Most episodes hold your interest, and I found it pretty cool how they took characters and plots from the original Superfriends series and updated them in this new version. Definitely recommend.

Season One of JUSTICE LEAGUE was good. Season Two was better. All the stories were at least decent, while the three-parter that ended the season, "Starcrossed," would be a great JLA story regardless of the medium in which it was told, with Hawk Girl both betraying her league partners and then later saving them. And not just did she betray her duty, she failed to tell John Stewart, with whom things had started to warm up romantically, that she was betrothed to a fellow Thanagarian. The story was a great example of how a story, normally limited by its genre, can sometimes transcend it.
One of my favorite episodes was a standalone Christmas episode, in which we see the various members of the league celebrating in their own particular way, including Flash's attempt to bring a toy to some orphans and an obviously homesick JJ, acting as his very own ghost of Christmas present, striving in his own way to understand what Christmas is all about.
The second season continued the things it did so wall in Season One: strong writing, outstanding voice over work, high production values. Though primarily directed at kids, it was never "just" a kid's show. The pace was a tad faster than I would have preferred, but it wasn't as frenetic as many kid's shows.
