Optimus Prime was the top item on my Son's Christmas list after seeing the movie. We were unable to find the autobot leader at any of our local Toy Stores and Amazon came through. Our Son (7yrs) is very happy with the toy and is quite good at transforming between the Robot and Autobot forms. It has supplied hours of enjoyment thus far and isn't that really what a good toy is supposed to do when you get right down to it!

Wow! I remember playing with the G1 OP when I was like 10 years old, that was the toy back then. It was a show off to transform it as quick as we could. But this OP makes our original one seem like childs play ( no pun intended ). It has everything a kid could want, lights, sounds, a cool spring up head action to put the punctuation on his final stage of vehicle to robot transformation! It's a cool toy, and now that X-mas is over hopefully the price will come down again.

When I first got this toy, I was really, really happy. It was fun to transform it and it was a tiny bit hard to transform. I liked the challenge. It is a fun toy to look at and play with. So enjoy it!

I bought this toy for my sister's boyfriend's six year old ( yeah, I know)- both males loved it- a big hit! The little one cannot manipulate the limbs, etc. without help from an adult, but no one seems to mind because the cool factor of this toy is so high!

My husband and I bought this as a Christmas present for our 5-year-old, even after reading all of the reviews imploring us to reconsider. It was very difficult to transform the first time, and the directions are truly next to useless.

My husband ended up searching on YouTube and found a 15+ minute video in which some wonderful person took the time to show how to transform the robot step by step. After seeing the demonstation and helping to transform it once, my son somehow managed to teach himself how to transform it from truck to robot and back. So, I know it can be done, even by little kids, but your child would have to be as motivated as my son was to figure it out.

Oh, but do not pay the price Amazon currently has listed for this toy. I found it at a very common, bullseye-covered store for less than half of this price.

If you need better instructions transforming this one, do look at video sites. Help is out there!
