DVD : The Batman - The Complete Fourth Season (DC Comics Kids Collection)

In association with Amazon.com

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I'm still not sure
The animation is gonna take some getting used to but the new versons of the villians and the stories are absolutly wonderful. We meet a young Bruce Wayne, only three years as the Batman and already crime has droped amazingly, but suddenly new and more powerful villians arrive then just the mob bosses the Batman is used to. Overall: a fun show.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Batman at his animated best.
After the third season, I was a little let down. The first was good, I loved the second, but the third just didn't live up to the two previous seasons. I was a little nervous about getting the fourth season but went ahead and did it anyways, and I must say that this is the best season so far. We get to see the introduction to Robin and it's GOOD. I have never liked Robin. I always thought that he contradicted the Batman so much, but in this series it seems to work. Batgirl is also better in this season than in the last. There are many additions to this season than just robin though. We also have a new Clayface, Killer Moth, Black Mask, and Harley Quinn, a Riddler back-story, a futuristic look on batman, a zombie episode, an alien episode, and the introduction to the Justice League.

Im also glad that they cut down on The Joker. I do like his character, but they were starting to overuse him and putting him in stupid situations (The Joker wannabe Bane episode). I was a little let down that there was not much catwoman, but that is something I can live with. I'm off to get Season Five and I hope that it's as good as this was.

My Top Five Episodes of this season.
1. Strange New World
2. The Joining 1 & 2
3. The Everywhere Man
4. Riddlers Revenge
5. Artifacts

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Batman TV season 4
This whole Batman series has great plots, gorgeous art, and is a wonderfully imaginative addition to the long Batman tradition! Rates five stars, AAA+++++

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Batman
Ive been checking out new Batman items and I dont recall this series. It won 7 Emmy awards but alot of people like this version of Batman. I read a review for this season and it looked pretty good, so I bought it. The one reason why I wanted to see it for Robert Englund lending his voice to The Riddler. Wow, what a change in The Riddler! As one review put, he does look like Marilyn Manson. I like the changes to the villians and the storys range from good to poor. Not the best version of Batman but still enjoyable.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dynamic Duo
The Batcave just got a little more crowded in "The Batman: The Complete Fourth Season". As the mysterious crime fighter Batman, young industrialist Bruce Wayne has dedicated his life to protect Gotham City from such dangerous rogues like Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Catwoman and Mr. Freeze. In this season, orphaned acrobat Dick Grayson joins the Batman to form one of the most popular partnerships in the DC Comics Universe. "The Batman" is the Emmy Award-winning animated series based on the DC Comics hero. The animated series premiered in 2004 and has gained a good fan following. Though the animation style and character designs are different than previous television shows, "The Batman" still maintains faithful to the comic books. The fourth season well introduces the character Robin into the show and includes appearances from such villains like Tony Zucco, Killer Moth, Black Mask and Harley Quinn. Martian Manhunter appears in the season finale. The fourth season features the guest voice stars as Mark Hamill, Brandon Routh, Allison Mack, Jerry O'Connell, Dave Foley, Brooke Shields and Louis Gossett Jr.

If you have been watching closely this season of "The Batman", then you certainly want to pick up this DVD. All 13 episodes of the fourth season are presented in their original 1.33:1 broadcast format. The 2-disc DVD offers a sharp and clean video transfer. Its 2.0 Dolby Digital soundtrack isn't the best stereo track around but does get the job done. The DVD menus are pretty simple. Its only extra is the 9-minute "The Batman: Season Four Unmasked" featurette that offers interviews with cast and crew about the development of the fourth season. Overall, "The Batman: The Complete Fourth Season" gets a "B".
