Great stuff! The episodes are not in the original order, but they are exactly how I remember them. I look forward to volume 2 and more!!
Batman is still goofy but it gets better in the 90s show.

Another great release of the Superfriends. All New Superfriends Hour Season 1, Volume 1. The episodes were great. I have watched every episode on the DVD already. Can't wait for Season 1, Volume 2 to be released.

Greetings, the only reason I didn't give this one 5 of 5 is because WB could have easily packaged the whole series together as a 4-disc set. Oh well. Anyway, hoepfully by the end of 2008 we will see almost all the SF series on DVD. (part 2 of this set from 1977, the 1st season in 1973, & Wolrds Greatest from 1979)My only worry is that so far there has not been *ANY* incling of when/how the 66 "short" epsiodes that aired from 1980-1983 will be released. The opening sequence has not even been seen since thir original broadcast, and I'm just fearful it may have been lost when these were cut-up with several other SF & Filmation DC series to make "The Batman Superman Adventures" in the mid-90's. I love seeing these on Boomerang & several on-line sites, but I really want to see the original opening & title cards again....

Now this was a surprise, hot off the heels of the releases of the last two SF series (Legendary Super Powers and Super Powers Team). I thought WB would be content giving us a sample of the Wonder Twins, a sample of the Legion of Doom, and the Super Powers era. But I am VERY pleased to see the releases keep on coming. This one will have some full-length adventures not unlike "Volume 2" in the series of DVDs, but also has short adventures that introduce other characters in the DC Universe. The alien/mad scientist rogues' gallery from the Wendy/Marvin era more or less remain, though. But another new addition are the PSA's, crafts, and magic tricks, which will hopefully be intact on the set.
Hopefully this is a sign that we'll get the rest of the Superfriends series indeed. And more from the Filmation library.

OK, I agree that it's got something to offer that the 1973 first season didn't.
Watch for great guest appearances by DC Heroes Rima, Green Lantern, Hawkman & Hawkgirl, Flash & Atom, as well as introduction of the characters created by Hanna Barbera for the series: Black Vulcan, Samurai & Apache Chief.
Each episode has 4 cartoons: A short with a team-up of two core members (ie Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman+Robin), then a Wondertwins short, then a half hour story with all core members and the Wondertwins, then a team-up with a core member and one of the guest stars listed above.
However, the 1973 season had its virtues too, such as narration by Ted Knight (reminiscent of his narration of the same characters in Filmation's cartoons of the 1960s), 45 min stories, and guest appearances by Green Arrow, Flash and Plastic Man.
